I have no issues with Senior on a pay as you play. He will provide experience for the younger ones.
As for what he has said, not said - How about, he held is hand up and learnt from the experience and maybe he was forgiven.
This offer surely only proves the unity of a championship team that you can make mistakes and be given a second chance.
The big issue is whether Keith can afford to risk not playing. I expect him to be very gracious of the offer, politely decline - Have his swansong on Boxing day and leave Leeds on the right and deserved note.

Quote Clarifying Senior’s situation, Rhinos chief executive Gary Hetherington added: “We offered Keith a one-year deal for 2012 before his injury and, at the time, Brian McDermott did explain to Keith that the club would be stepping up its search to find a ‘Keith Senior replacement’ and if he stayed, he would have to fight for his place like all other players.
“As we know, Keith later signed for the Crusaders with our best wishes but this, unfortunately, was to fall through and Keith’s situation is made more complicated because of his knee reconstruction.
“We will continue to look after him and all his rehabilitation until he is fully recovered and Keith has also been offered a job to work for the club at the expiry of his playing contract and a pay-per-play contract for 2012, which he is still considering. If he was to get a better offer from another club, he would also have the option to take it up.
“This type of arrangement and support is typical of what Leeds Rhinos would provide for any of its players who have given long and outstanding service and Keith certainly falls into this category.
“It has been disappointing, therefore, to read some of the implied criticism of the club’s handling of this situation as we take great pride in the support we give to all our players and Keith is no exception.”'"
How on earth could anyone get their knickers in a twist over GHs handling of this.
Basically, he's saying, up yours keith. We've looked after you. You went for big bucks at Crusaders and it fell through. However, here's something as recognition of what you've given us but if you can get better elsewhere feel free.
The criticism Hetherington gets from idiots who couldn't even tie their shoe laces is mind boggling when you look at his track record. |

More than happy to have Keith on board for 2012. Knows the squad, knows the club. I agree Hardaker & Watkins should be first choice, but we've yet to see Watkins complete a season. Also, if it doesnt work out there contractual obligations for either party to worry about. Sensible & affordable move - good work GH. As for salary cap constraints, i'd be amazed if we're anywhere near the cap limit next year
