It shouldnt be any of that for me.... either
A) Top of the league at end of regular season is champion!! End of!! Nevermind giving hope to teams finishing in 8th flippin place!!! 8th is 8th!! Not good enough
B) Top 4 play off with a random draw format, winner of each match play off in "FINAL" at Old Trafford or Wembley.
C) Top 8 play off in same format as B. Neutral venues.

All these permutations which are in place ala "club calling" are just a money spinning ridiculous format!

Before season start everyone knows that to acheive the goal of a championship they will need to defeat the other teams who qualify for the playoffs in a pre-determined format.

In the NFL wild card teams (lowest placed playoff qualifiers) have won the Superbowl and it's not even a topic for discussion. They appreciate the season is merely to qualify for the playoffs.'"


Look no further than Dewsbury in 1973 .... RFL Champions from 8th in the final league table.

These modern fans have no respect for the traditions of the game. They're brainwashed into thinking that because something happens in football it's the only way of doing things. So sad.
