| Quote Remarkable_Rhinos="Remarkable_Rhinos"On a similar note.... That means that all 4 of our Harry Sunderland Trophy winners are Leeds academy products.
2004 - Diskin
2007 - Burrow
2008 - Smith
2009 - Sinfield
AND... our "recent" Lance Tood Trophy winners too...
1999 - Rivett
2005 - Sinfield
AND... our "recent" Man of Steel.
1998 - Harris
So basically, Since 1998, every major individual award that a Leeds player has won, has been won by an academy product.

You could even throw in the two Golden Boot awards for Hall (2009) & Calderwood (2005) too if you wanted.'"
Really?

What you adding stuff to my post for?!
Surely if I'd edited it, for example if I'd realised I'd reverted back to "British" players rather than academy products, it would say so?!

| I quite like the look of the Leeds all British side put on here, not bad. In fact it gets rid of some deadwood.

It's an elite club with only Leeds and now St Helens as 'official' members.
Please don't attempt to cheapen the brand.

Correct. Where did Martin Gleeson start in this country (after he returned from being brought up in Australia), born in Wigan but did he come through the Huddersfield system?
Edit: Doesn't matter anyway as Mark Ridell kicked a goal during their win in the 2010 final.

In our 2007 win against Saints Webb, Lauitiiti and Donald all scored tried.
The other years i think you may have right that about the try scorers

| If you read carefully what El D actually said you wouldn't have felt the need to make that reply.
I know, I nearly made the same mistake myself earlier in the day but the statement is loose enough to interpret Champions as a unique entity each season rather than the collective of Championships.

| Wakefield have also fielded a full 17 uk team this year. Think it was overlooked as the press only interested in wakey bashing all year .
Seriously though I'm sure it was full 17.

| Care to narrow it down at all, comp, opposition that kind of thing?
The chances sound a little far-fetched at a club who over the course of the season have fielded combinations of: Motu Tony, Michael Korkidas, Julien Rinaldi, Kevin Henderson, Ben Jeffries, Glenn Morrison, Semi Tadulala, Jeremy Smith and Ryan Tongia.
Well done to Wakefield if it happened but I'll wait for the evidence first if it's all the same to you.

| Quote Remarkable_Rhinos="Remarkable_Rhinos"Wasn't it vs. Quins?!
And what doesn't seem to get mentioned is...
a) They were assured of 3rd place and resting many. It's not as if their first choice 17 is English.
b) They didn't exactly breeze past Quins. The report I saw had Quins very much in the picture. Including [i"But Quins were certainly good value for their advantage as the sides went in at the break.[/i"
c) Most clubs U20s are made up of Englishmen.
If we were assured a spot and playing a meaningless match against a poor side, we could easily line up as:
BJB
Hardaker
Watkins
Smith
Hall
McGuire
Burrow
Bailey
McShane
Peacock
JJB
Ablett
Sinfield
Kirke
Pitts
Clarkson
Singleton
And that's not including Amor, Ambler, Senior, Hood, Elliot, Casey, Coady & Stewart.
If they were to name an all English, Grand Final side, that beats Warrington or Wigan. I'll be impressed. Until then.... Meh.'"
Looks a pretty good team this, as did the Saints team on the weekend!!! Infact im sure Leeds Saints Wigan and Warringon could all field a decent all britsh team and still compete at good level in Super league....makes you wonder why we need overseas players when the talents already in our squads?

I know the year i specified wasn't mentioned in the original post but the comment "How many SL champions can say all their GF points have been scored by products of the academy" wasn't strictly true as we won the GF in 2007 and 3 non academy players scored.
Anyway, still a very impressive stat that 3 of our GF final wins had only academy scorers
