I suspect the sticking point may be more the length of any proposed contract than the remuneration - he's always placed his faith and his family ahead of his on-field achievements and may be looking for the security of a two-year deal rather than the one year extensions Leeds seem to be offering at the moment.

It was much more of an opinion than a comment on his current position. His performances do not, or should not warrant a shirt week in week out. If Ali maintains a time without injury he would be a much better option.
