I'm waiting for the deluge of forward pass threads, but I don't think that incident matters - I personally don't think we got the rub of the green, but I can't blame Wigan for that. Their defence was impressive, but so was ours and I think we pulled off the 3 man tackle quite well.
Burrow, Webb, Ablett, McGuire and Smith had good games. Hardaker looked impressive yet calm, and with a top class centre might have had a bit more room to work with. BJB backed up Tuesday's display of pace by doing Richards on the outside and putting in an altogether good performance.
I want BM gone as much as anyone else, but I think we will make the 8 and cause some teams problems.'"
Agree with most of that. Don't think Burrow was very good though: lost a lot of defensive linespeed and intensity when Buderus went of, and drive and organisation in attack. Not his fault, but Rob is just not equiped to play as a go-forward hooker. It was while he was on the pitch that Wigan dominated us. McShane would have offered more as a bench hooker.
Webb was good. Ablett was good. BJB looked really, really dangerous but needed more ball. Kylie had his best game for some time. Kirke did some decent things for a change in his time on the field, but don't think he played a minute of the second half?
Also, Wigan didn't play very well, IMO.
So BMcD got his wish. Better performance but no win. Can't say I'm that delighted with that, and I hope he's not either.
