We entered via North Stand turnstiles with South Stand tickets and walked through unchecked last weekend. It was a good 90 mins before kick off mind.

They never check - how could they when you don't get a ticket if you pay on the gate?

I'm guessing that if you have an electronic ticket (either a barcoded paper one or a season ticket) then only the Southstand scanners are programmed to let you in if you have a Southstand ticket/season ticket.

I've never tried this out in theory though.
