Do me a favour Wakey fan. Your clutching at straws trying to make out Cas are worse than any other club so you won't lose out on a franchise. Wakey have idiots just like we do.
I'm a Cas fan, but for the last few years have stood in the Railway end (most fans will know this as the away end at Cas) right in front of the scoreboard. I usually get there early so the kids can get a good spot on a railing. At the Wakey game, we switched ends with 50 mins left before kick off and we went and stood in the Wheldon road end. I did this because a bunch of 6 or 7 men, plus their boys of about 10 years old were aggressively singing things like "inbred...kill the inbreds....kill the effing inbreds" and pointing at me and my 10 year old son and 11 year old daughter ( she actually looks younger because she's tiny for her age). I didn't hang around to argue, report, confront them or anything we just moved ends. First time i've ever switched ends or moved because of other fans my whole life supporting Cas. Second time was on friday against Leeds. Don't worry Leeds fans though, we only moved because there were so many of your fans we'd lost our usual perch so went to find a better spot.
It's pot luck if you end up bumping in to an idiot of any team. Most fans go through their entire life not seeing any trouble or just a drunken idiot now and again. I've always felt comfortable wearing my shirt at other games, grand finals etc. You get banter but you know that's it. I've marched up Sir Matt Busby Way with over a thousand Leeds fans chanting at me for wearing my Cas shirt, but it's just banter and good humoured rugby fans having a laugh. I remember a few years ago a (Wigan?) fans bus was bricked at Salford, it was all over these boards, but it isn't all Salford fans just like it isn't all Cas fans in the occasion. We were at Saints last monday and a few Saints fans were sat in the Cas end. A couple had to be ejected by stewards because they were having a go at the Cas fans. Not all Saints fans are like this. Finally, since we're on the Leeds board and all being high and mighty over one incident and we're calling for heads to roll etc etc. Go find the homophobic chanting from the Leeds fans in the south stand on that ever so popular video sharing website. Many of you have probably seen it already but will chose to ignore it rather than report it to your club and have the culprits dealt with, while instead focusing your attentions on an easier target!
