We did a Grand Final in the second half and capitulated. It was never on. We didn't have the mental reserves to do another Cas/Hull/Wigan/you name it comeback! But we have done some rather good comebacks this season. Too many of them for my nerves.

I think the point is that Eddie's 'never write off the Saints' line is getting a bit tired. It's hardly exclusive to Saints. We've probably produced plenty more comebacks over the last few years.

Oh, that's just because under Ian Millward we made an art of it. We had to. Our defence was e back then. With making so many comebacks this season, I think it's reminded him of the old days. However, he's not yet clicked on that we're not that team anymore!
