Quote: Remarkable_Rhinos "Spot on.
People (and by that I mean "Joe Public". I'm more than aware there's many exceptions) tend to have 2 major financial outlays... Christmas & a Summer Holiday.
Nobody is thinking... "Best watch the pennies for Christmas" or "Best save up some spending money" in January.
The third Monday of January is known as "Blue Monday". It's supposed to be the most depressing day of the year. Something to do with people having broken NY Resolutions, Weather, Time since a payday (assuming it's longer than usual if paid early for Christmas), distance to the next Bank Holiday (which at that point is like the end of March!), Debt, Dark Nights (known as "seasonal affective disorder"icon_wink.gif anyway... Blue Monday...
People tend to get over this (despite one of the factors being Debt!!!) by spending cash. Even if it involves you going into more debt, buying things cheers you up.
By the way, none of that is meant to be specific to Rugby League or Away Kits. I'm just backing up bewildered's "as daft as it sounds people spend money in January" comment.'"
hows the away shirt sales going lol
