But when you see a youngster come through the juniors into the 1st team, and you realise he has that special something that you know will see him at the top - I get a bit giddy. 1988 - A young Paul Newlove graced the turf - he weren't afe bad either. It's that kind of comparison.
And I get a bit of satisfaction from being able to say "told ya"!  |

a lot of players can look good in the lower leagues and struggle against the big boys but he looked the real deal in defence in their grand final when he dumped a fax winger into touch after a break
looking forward to 2012 i can see smith struggling to make the 13 if BJB grabs the fullback spot and watkins and hardaker grab centre and wing unless delaney moves to the second row

southyorksdave - Zak played earlier in the season against Warrington and played well against Chris Riley. Think it was his 2nd league appearance too, scoring a try too.
The last player to move to a super league club from Fev was Danny Kirmond, he was signed when we were in National League 2 (2007) and has done well with Huddersfield. Zak is a different class to Danny.
It's not been the easiest of seasons being a flat capper, but when you see one of your own come through and sign for the the best team* in Super League, it makes you pretty proud.
