We need aggression and steel.

I watched manning a few years ago and thought that he looked a good player, but I didn't really watch him much this season, clearly he cannot have impressed or we or another sl club would have snapped him up

I think he will be kept an eye on by the scouts.

In the Leeds academy where I saw alot of his games he was pure steel. Run and tackled with the heart of a Gareth Ellis type.
Quick, strong, and knew where to put his shoulder. With a bit of quality on his touch.

Now the Fev lot may want to come in here to assess his season, as I couldn't say.

It does highlight the 'step up' that is required.

But the games he got were nearly all off the bench (i looked out for him in League Express!!) and he was playing with one of the forces in that comp.

So it may be better to judge him after his year at Batley, where he will play more games, start more games and play more game time. Which is what a hungry, young, player needs.

I wouldn't write him off just yet.

True I can't really judge him cos I haven't seen enough of him, but I was very supprised from what i had seen of him in the academy that we released him and didn't keep him signed and loan him out.

Dane Manning is hard working 2nd rower, who fitted into a good Featherstone side well. He's not a top Championship League player, but will go well a great club in Batley.
