Wigan are very disciplined and have learnt to be patient and take their chances.

They do this extremely well. Other teams need to work in this in the off season. If they don't then they will only have themselves to blame if Wigan do it even better next season.

Hopefully Leeds will get some of this with the changes in coaching staff.

Quote: nantwichexile "If the game is to succeed even to the degree it is at today it needs a strong Wigan. The RFL can afford to lose a Castleford or a Wakefield for the sake of an "expansive policy" into the likes of London and Wales ...but lose Wigan. Nah ! Realism rules.'"

So we should allow clubs to flaunt the salary cap rules and not receive the requisite punishment?

Offically British Aerospace should be more severely crippled for their underhand, unethical dealings with Saudi Arabia. A company less prestigious and important to UK status, jobs and tax revenue would have been.

Banks and complicit goverments turning a blind eye whilst revelling in the delusion of no more boom & bust should be more severely punished for the mess they have created to the world economy.....but without the banks and governments the world economies and societies would collapse into anarchy. They had to be bailed out at any cost and slapped on the wrist. The mere minions and tax payers of the world will pay instead.

We live in the 'real world'.

Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid. Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal. Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif

Quote: Highbury Rhino "Mainly fair points but Wigan's good season is a signal that the game has to change. In it's present state the dominance of slow play the balls, wrestling, 'winning the floor', 5 drives and a kick, physicality and power generally at the expense of, flair, speed and skill is leading the sport towards a general sterility with an increasing proportion of dull games. This is a view that I think is finding more and more favour with the games administrators and Gary Hetherington in particular is an advocate for change. I for one hope that Wigan and the Wigan way find themselves back where they belong - the dustbin of history'"

Well done to Wigan, deserved SL Champions in 2010.

I was undecided who to lend my support to prior to kick-off as seeing either team lose had it's obvious attractions but the observance (or not quite) of the minute's silence for Terry Newton sealed the deal.

Martin Gleeson - quality reaction to scoring the opening try.
