Well off the top of my head there is Jordan Tansey and Iestyn Harris. There may well be others. But you were attempting to have a little dig at Hetherington for some reason over this issue but yet your only real evidence to back you up is the Karl Pratt deal.

That depends when you believe Craig Innes walked out of the club and when Mr Hetherington took over as Leeds CEO.

I suspect the time between the two events was not as great as you are implying above, although I agree there was a gap of some months.

I also seem to recall that Leeds persued compensation from the Manly Warringah club for quite some time after the contracted Innes walked out and that quite possibly overlapped with the new CEO taking up his post at the club.

I recall Innes left after the end of the truncated final winter season. I recall he didn't play for us in SL1. I recall GH didn't take over until the start of SL2 or at least until after SL1 was over.

"Quite possibly" isn't what Gotcha was talking about is it? He criticised GH for making statements about Innes compensation. I know he can't substantiate his wild claims but as you've stepped in to defend the crank's honour (can't miss a chance to bag GH can you now) you might have some of these GH claims in your YEP archives.

Hetherington took over well before SL2 - did he not sign Harris who played in SL1 for Leeds?

Innes' last game for Leeds was the Challenge Cup 5th round, away at Warrington, on the 10th February 1996. From my point of view that year's Challenge Cup forms a part of SL1 although it is fair to say that Innes had left several weeks prior to the inaugural regular round fixture at Home to Warrington.

Yes Hetherington did sign Harris for Leeds. Harris' debut was in Round 4 of SL2 (V Wigan, Headingley, 4th April 1997)

I remember that away cup game at Warrington, and also that Innes made a special point of coming over to applaud the fans after the match, so it was obvious then he was going.

I don't remember GH ever coming out and saying that we would continue to pursue compensation from Manly, as I'm pretty sure that particular boat had sailed before he got here.

It wasn't to me.

Does this mean every time a player comes over and applauds the fans it means he's leaving, despite having an as yet unexpired playing contract?

It was simply a case of two plus two makes four, rather than the more frequently assumed five.
