Finally a Wigan fan with a a bit of sense. Of course anyone in the same position would do what McGuire did, it's something I've seen countless times. What most Wigan fans seem to be forgetting is that they still had 50 yards to travel and with the cover that Leeds had, I really don't think they'd have scored anyway. |

What the hell in Hemmings going on about? "Sam Tomkins to be fair to him is showing concern"? I know Eddies getting on a bit and his eyes might not what they used to be but it's not ST but Tommy L and secondly he does not look like he is showing concern.

I saw piggy riddell run over and tower very threatingly and menacingley over the prone mcguire.
Then i saw mcguires body spasm as if in terrible pain and piggy riddell ran off.
UNfortunatly you can't see exactly what happens. |

Mcguire appeared to be running to catch the slow moving carmont.
But then, his knee buckled, instinctivly he grabbed onto carmont to save himself ligament damage, carmont, seeing all this unfold with the eyes in the back of his head, began running like a man possesed, laughing like a homicidal maniac.
Mcguire was than dragged along like a rag doll, his ligaments been shattered from the resulting force. Hearing his ligaments buckle, carmont goes to ground. |

Do you think it is possible he could feel something was badly wrong before he grabbed Carmont? If so it is then logical to grab Carmont as McGuire knew his season was over anyway.

Bluey was a bit cringe worthy there. McGuire cheated and got injured. These unfortunate things happen.

I saw what happened. He dragged Carmont back and fell over, obviously due to his injury. Piggy ran over (Not Tomkins) and stood over him telling him exactly what he thought of his actions. At no point did Piggy touch him. If Mcguire got up I think Piggy may have chinned him though.
Piggy never moved from the scene. If you look at the photos on this site he's still there when Eastwood and Delany come over. Nothing in it from a Wigan player at all. |
