| Quote: Gotcha "I have had this argument many times this season. This team is nothing like the team we had in 2005. This team does not even come close to the team we had in 2005. Regardless of that side losing two finals, it was a joy to watch and an extremely good side.
We haven't played Wigan and Warrington each week, only 4 times just like last year. Infact our results against Wire are better this year than last in the league. The league position is irrelevant and IMO not a measurement of where we are this year.
What is relevant is performance and quality shown. In that regard we are a million miles away from last year. The very reason why I for one have continually stated that this season is not a blip, but a downward trend.'"
Would not entirely disagree with you but do feel that there is more improved competition than there was in 2005 - it's not just Wigan and Warrington that have improved over the last couple of seasons.

| Quote: Keith Swiftcorn "Yes, winning does make fans happy. However, the consumption of continual success and the level of satisfaction or happiness derived from it is subject to the law of diminishing marginal utility. For example, the consumption of that first bar of chocolate makes you happy. Consume further bars of chocolate soon after and the level of satisfaction or happiness derived from each additional bar of chocolate will be less than the satisfaction or happiness you derived from eating the one before - and the one before that - until you eventually feel sick!
'"
I don't eat chocolate, but I'm sure even I could manage one big tin of Quality Street every 12 months.

| Quote: DHM "That's because it's total boll0x. I realise that you may be attempting some irony here (and done it quite well), but really? Winning does make you happy. I shudder to think what this board would have looked like had it come into existance right after the CC semi defeat to Widnes in '84. The end of the false dawn of Mo Bamford and the beginning of 15 potless years (sorry, not even I count the Yorkshire cup triumph over mighty Castleford). There would have been on-line suicides every week, and when Peter Fox inspired us to avoiding relegation on points difference, well.....you get the idea. before the match had started I felt $h1t because I knew the f*****rs were right.'"
But imagine all the threads about Peter Sterling signing.

The server would have caught fire after the 10 tries Offiah scored.

Then I only had my mates to moan at, and they were even more miserable than me most of the time. Our club motto was "Leeds never fail...to disappoint". This really is a golden age and the things I read now are nothing compared to the b!tching and crying in beer that went on 20 years ago.
I was outside a pub in North London numbing the expected pain before the '95 CC final when a bus full of pie supporters went past. The banner they had on the side of the bus said "Leeds ha, ha. Some folk never learn!". And even before the match had started I felt $h1t because I knew the f*****rs were right.'"
the robbery of 86 & gouldings kicking game in 93 followed by kicking cars in 94

You - along with the club, the players and many other Rhinos fans - appear to be the victims of consumerism and the binge society. You've over-indulged on success over the past few years, you've embraced the gluttonous expectation of continued success, you've accepted the consumption of quantity over quality, but more importantly you've become unhealthy and burnt out in the process.
A period of starvation is the necessary cure in order to generate a renewed period of enthusiasm and happiness.'"
I think there is something in that
