Even at the Cup Final in 09 there were lots of empty seats in CW, it does spoil the atmosphere slightly having a half a tier of empty seats.

I have been trying to get hold of some using Twitter but no luck! If I got some I was going to sell ours at face value and then give the money plus another £50 to a charity of the providers choice!

I understand that many other debenture seat schemes for major stadiums around the world operate an opt-in system. You get sent a form and/or e-mail about 8/12 weeks before each event included in your debenture asking if you want your seats for that event. If you don't fax it back or fill in an on-line form by 4 weeks from the event they are allowed to sell your seats. Of course many companies fill these in anyway and then still don't turn-up but it is clearly better to fill that would be otherwise empty seats, even if they cost a premium.

Tis the corporate way im afraid. You wont see most of the private box owners there either which is a great shame.

Some Club Wembley seats will be used: a friend of a friend ( strictly wendyball-watcher only ) is 'donating' half a twenty-seater box to me and my mates. The other half is being used, so that's at least 20. The same thing is probably being repeated with others. The system for offering use of seats in Club Wembley creaks and it's far too long winded and cumbersome, so not surprising that many of these seats are 'off the market' permanently.

I also noticed that some travel packages were being advertised with club wembley tickets...no idea how that works.

They are not all taken under debenture, so Wembley sell those at a premium via various other sources.

It is a set fixture in the Wembley Calender and it makes the club Wembley tickets more attractive on a cost to available event comparison.

Best bit of Dave Woods commentary yesterday was when he described Club Wembley as 'the Ring of Indifference'. Should go down in history that quote.

Not sure how much say RL had about that, but as one of the key reasons for Wembley getting all of the grants it did was because of it's multisport credentials so I would have thought that the RL would have had some say.

Still think the whole Wembley thing is a joke - 3x as much as the Millenium Stadium - and (if I understand it) without closing roof.
Is it 3x the stadium?? No way.

Club Wembley is symptomatic of all that's wrong with it.
