I repeat, Leeds fans should realise, more than anyone, that champions don't get crowned in July. Wigan fans would do well to remember that.

Of course you're right. As I said in a thread on your forum before the match, the only possible way we could beat you is by cheating. How could a bunch of no-hoper players possibly beat the god-like supermen of Leeds?

Wigan are a team punching above their weight and have been doing all season. If this Wigan squad goes on to win the grand final then in years gone by we’ll all look at the Wigan team that day in puzzlement and conclude what a poor season 2010 was..

Of course they're not overrated - they've won for three successive years. What's happening IMO is that several of the great stalwarts of the club (Lauititi, Senior, Donald, McGuire, etc) are not the players they once were.
It must be difficult for a coach of a successful team to accept that some of his linchpin players are becoming weak links, and replace them in time to keep the team on top.

Leeds are quite plainly not the team this year that they were in previous years. Some fans on here accept it, some are blinded by their colours.

I would agree with that all but Mcguire becoming a weak link, been one of our best players this season.

You can't punch above your weight all season. By definition if your doing it all season then you've found your weight.



If you think that by doing nothing, sticking with your same team and tactics, that magically Wigan will be "found out", then you'll have a long wait. Wigan are quite plainly a better team than last year, and Leeds a slightly worse team. The size of those differerences will be found out at the end of August. I'm making no predictions on [ithat [/iresult (in fact I tend to believe neither Wigan nor Leeds will win it), but to dismiss last night's result, and the results all season, is very foolish.

You have seen a lot more of him than me so I'll take your word for it. I just remember in previous years him being a real thorn in our side, but in recent contests he hasn't seemed so threatening.

I’ve observed this Leeds team now for many years. Last year I never expected Leeds to finish top of the table because we didn’t do anything spectacular to warrant that. However this Leeds team tends to come into shape in knock out football at the end of the season.

All three times we was written off and all three times we won in the last three years.

The league seems somewhat a burden to this Leeds team who just can’t get motivated against the likes of Crusaders.

Now back onto play off football. Wigan have performed well in these end of season play off series despite finishing low in a play off place in the past few years. You’ve always fallen short to Leeds and St Helens just before the grand final.
