So you don't think the 99 squad would of adapted to the pace like every other squad has?
If your gonna compare then don't forget that the 99 squad would of had todays technology and training methods just like the current squad has so the pace of the game is a non point.

Not a bad pack, All first grade regulars in 1998. How did they cope in the last couple of seasons, stick Kimmorley at 7 & Senior & Gidley in the centres (I got bored after that).

John Holmes wasn't fast in 79, but his mind was fast enough to let the game be played at his pace.

...and I also quote Cliff Lyons when he toured over here a couple of seasons ago with an aussie select team, they played Bramley in a "friendly" - Lyons bossed the game from start to finish and hardly had to take two steps with the ball in hand at any time.

That was a rough game IIRC and he didnt shy out of anything

i think Abbott Out means, is the collision is alot faster in 2010 and i would agree with that theory, i think 99 team would get bullied out of it in the forwards these days - remember Jamie Mathiou was part of that squad
