If the RFL want a full time coach it will restrict their choice. Who of any real quality wants a job where you only get to coach players for 3/4 weeks.
If it were me I would have a selection group of 3 ex players and then have a top Aussie coach - Murray - to work with them when they get there.
We cannot justify a full time coach.
Having said that I expect McRae to get the job sadly

Edwards probably doesn't want it, and I'd like to see him have a club appointment in RL first anyway.
Outside that, there aren't loads of English candidates springing to mind, and I'd rather have the right man for it than go for an English coach who isn't up to it. I doubt you'd tempt Wayne Bennett, but he'd be the dream pick. Failing that, I wouldn't mind tempting Justin Morgan away from Craven Park to do the job.
Whoever we get is going to need the players to beat the Aussies, which we don't have.
