Its such a shame that he's turned into what he is, when he could have been a part of the game still. Hopefully the players of today will learn from it and not make the same mistakes.

His talent is now tainted to me.

He was one of my 1st real "Heroes" and i was gutted when he left because i honestly thought we'd never get another player with as much skill and quality.
Thankfully we've had some really outstanding players since then and after reading schoeys book seeing various interviews and seeing what he was like behind the scenes i just see think what a waste and a really jealous bitter ex-player.

Same here, I remember I almost started supporting Huddersfield when he left (I was only about 11!). Until my dad firmly reminded me where my loyalties lie!

Yep, I've never read his book, but dont need to since so many different people from that time seem to all have roughly the same opinion of him.
Its such a shame that someone with so much skill and knowledge of the game could just throw the sport aside simply because things didnt go his way.

It appears to have been ghost written, no doubt with his input but at times you get the impression that the input was limited to mono-syllabic answers to vague questions - have a look for it in Waterstones and stand and read it for five minutes, open it on any page and start reading - you'll see what I mean.

Possibly one of the worst biographies I have ever read, and I've read lots of them.

He's got a quality book in him to write, some of the story's must be brilliant.
