Helicopter shots were a distraction. I found the game harder to follow through Sky's insistence in using 'innovative' views. I guess they are trying to add value but it just does not work.

The default Sky coverage is very good and I would say if it's not broken, don't fix it.

One Sky trait, I guess it is a problem with the editor, is that they will insist on replaying a previous incident even when play has continued. Fair enough if the game has come to a halt but Rugby League doesn't stop that often or for that long. I believe that this problem is due to Stevo and Eddie's anal requirement to go into every close call by a referee. Often they ask us to dwell on what might have been called. I think that Sky do not help respect for referees as they dwell so much on the minutae.

I am thinking of paying for Phil Clarke to get a lesson in RL rules, his "we should just give him the try" was something else.

The only gripe I had were as per OP i.e the insistence on using the tracking cam and the helicopter which prevented you from getting a feel for the passage of play. Carney was , as ever excellent and if he doesn't play next year should IMO replace Clarke on the sky team.

They tried something different with the ‘chopper shots’ and tracking cam – it didn’t work too well. Hopefully they will have realise this and not bother with it in future.

Carney would make an excellent replacement for Clarke but TBH I’d rather see a monkey in a suit than Clarke – would be far more entertaining.

its generally hard to fault skys coverage. i watched in glorious HD and the pictures were fantastic. A little more sparing use of their 'innovative' cameras wouldnt go amiss.
