Quote seacroftrhino="seacroftrhino"hey all started hitting the gym and was wondering the best supplements to use for muscle growth and were to get them from'"
You'd need to share what your diet is like, what you're doing at the gym, what work you do daily etc.
There are plenty of boards online with goo advice being thrown aruond; sometimes you just have to sift through the bull to find it. Have a read of this one www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthre ... 2055324792 you'll be able to work out fairly quickly who knows their stuff.
PM me if you want more info about anything. As Blocker said, people in supplement shops will know their stuff - just be wary of them needing to sell to make money...

| Over the last fifteen or so years I have attained weight gain by supplementing my diet with Chips, Pies and beer.

I once achieved similar results with beer, doner kebabs and chinese food. When I reduced my use of these substances the extra bulk fell away alarmingly quickly.

Are these donor kebabs and Chinese food supplements available in health food shops?

| As your just starting you dont need to look much further than a normal whey protein and a bit of creatine. I use myprotein.co.uk, cant go wrong, good stuff at a cheap price.

My brother used to swear by Creatine powder (I think Prolab was a popular brand but not sure if still is). Think places like Holland & Barrett is a good place to try.

They are, but many of the best of these health emporia are most readily accessed after normal pub opening hours.
The kebab shop near where I used to live did, in fact, have a poster on the wall which read:
"Try a chicken kebab: The low fat, healthy option."
True story.

Seconded on myprotein.co.uk very good site.
If you are going out to buy, there's no need to be paying the extra for maximuscle, you're only paying the extra because they spend so much on marketing. The quality is no better.
The important thing to remember is supplements are just that, supplements. No point i using them if your diet is shoddy or you do sweet fanny adams work at the gym.

| don't just down a few protein shakes and expect to get big depending on your weight you're probably going to have to eat well in excess of 3000 calories a day of clean food.

I wouldn't bother with creatine. All that does is basically holds water in your muscles, as soon as you stop using it you'll end up looking massive, but not in the sense you're after.

| If you're gonna use creatine, use a product by EAS called Phosphagen Elite, it mixes and tastes great and requires no loading process like the regular Creatine Monohydrate. You can see results after using it within 2 weeks.
As for a Protein suppliment or diet, if you are wanting to put on size I'd say have some kind of protein 3 - 4 times a day, morning, 1 hour pre training, after training, and again just before you go to bed!
If you want some discouted rates, PM me and i'll see what I can get you!
