What an awful, awful post.

Comparing football to rugby?

Quote: Tony Ferrino "2005 is the best Example, Saints where head and shoulder above anyone until the play-offs when Terry Newton put Long and someone else out which ended there season, had Long and the other player been fit i'm pretty confident they would have won the grand final'"

I thought it was Leeds who were head and shoulders above everyone else for most of that season.

Top of the table, with a huge points difference advantage for the majority of it before the game before the Challenge Cup Final messed them up.

St Helens didn't hit the front until round 25 by a point and Leeds had still monstored the competition when you look at the points difference.

Everyone knew the format before the season started though and that's the important bit to me.

If that's your best example can you find me another?

Hi, new poster here, I feel compelled to add my twopennorth to this thread.

I have to echo TVOC and McLaren Fields view, every team goes into the competition knowing the rules before the season starts. It looks to me like We (Leeds) have timed our late surge to perfection the last two seasons whereas our erstwhile scouse opposition have not.
Now messrs Wilkin and others would have you believe that if you are top after the regular rounds you should be crowned champions but if that was the case then surely Leeds would have aimed for that instead and thus possibly (if not probably) finished top over the skints. The facts are that over the season as a whole, (regular and playoffs) we performed better because we won the damn thing meaning our plan worked where others failed.

Sorry if that was a bit rambling but I do feel quite strongly about this, an if Saints or anyone else wins the Grand Final then I will acknowledge them as the rightful champions.
