to put Scotty D in the reserves for a couple of matches to get his confidence back & play Kallum on the Wing instead of him - lets face it on performance yesterday you would have thought that Scotty was the inexperienced winger not Kallum

Yeah I know, the way Watkins showed amazing speed to catch Hodgeson when he made that almost full length break..

Watkins has warranted another shot next week. Hall obviously to come back and let Scotty score a few and save a few in the reserves and let him build confidence.

It won't happen though.

He's playing on the wrong side yadda yadda yadda.

He needs flat tracks yadda yadda yadda.

He came from the NRL (reserve grade) yadda yadda yadda.

It's always going to be a tough call for a coach to drop a player who has just been given an extra year contract by your Chief Exec.

Remember, it was only a couple of months ago that Gary went public with his thoughts on the style of the current game, and made specific mention of our defeat at the hands of Bradford Bulls.

That was a very clear message to Bluey, that his boss was not a happy bunny. Given, that nobody knows which Rhino team is going to turn up, it puts Bluey between a rock and a hard place.

I reckon it would be best all round for Scotty to develop a "leg strain" that required a couple of weeks rest, plus another two weeks in the reserves to regain his confidence and get back up to speed.

I was thinking the same thing myself.
Would it be a good idea to drop Donald to the reserves.
Would this improve his confidence or destroy it.
Was it last month or the month before Watkins was copping some grief from the fans?

yeah but one drop was a deffo try! & its not the first time he's fluffed it over the line - not knocking him as until this year he has been great - but just think he lacking so much in confidence that he is going to be targeted by other teams & could end up costing us bigtime - even yesterday late on you could see the rest of the team reluctant to pass to his side of the pitch in case he knocked on!

I think Scotty is a big confidence player, dropping him would only have a negative effect IMO.

The influence Keith Senior has over how good his winger looks is being clearly shown this season...

But Keith Senior has been past it for the last 3 years

I think the problems with Donal are really caused by other factors, poor go-forward from the pack, move to un-natural side, inconsistent partnership etc.

When some of these issues are addressed we should see an improvement in Scotty. In the mean time he should try and get involved where he can, scoots and support, just to get a bit more confidence
