Quote: Chorley Rhino "If you come off the East Lancs Road, (A580) at Tescos, turn left there and then first right - this is called Bleak Hall Road. Stay on this road for about a mile and a half. The road then turns sharp right and there is a turning on the left - take that turning and you will pass the school on the left which charges a couple of quid to park but it can be a pain to get out of. If you pass the school, the ground is about three hundred yards further on. Turn your car round so you are ready for a quick getaway and park at the side of the road. the road is wide enough and shouldnt upset anyone. We have used this location for the past five visits and had no problem and also a quick getaway.'"
Just a note in case anyone is SatNaving - it is Bleak HILL Road (WA10 postcode). Otherwise the directions are spot on. If you look out for a pub on your right then the 'sharp right' that is referred to above is shortly after that (and the left turn actually feels more like going straight on).
I'd agree that if you're street parking, watch out for bus stops, driveways and no parking on bends (people have been ticketed recently for that). Also, best not to bump up on the pavements, though it's tempting since some roads around the ground are very narrow. Technically, pavement parking is obstruction so I know that I [iwon't[/i be pavement parking this Friday!
No resident of Knowsley Road has any legitimacy when it comes to complaining about match nights. The ground has been there over 100 years when all that area was farmers fields. If they didn't want 12-14 nights of relative auto chaos then they shouldn't have moved there in the first place.
