I was reading an interesting article regarding Matt Parish at Salford.

Most people are saying he is an unknown and has had no head coaching position. Brian Noble has kicked-off to the media about no pathways for British coaches and we are looking at un-tried Aussies.

This couldn't be further from the truth. Parish at 42 has had 12 years experience as an assistant coach. He also has the equivalent of a grade 4 coaches badge. Only John Kear in the UK has this level. Maybe its time for Cas to look at someone like him.

I agree, Kear is a big game coach not a season coach. I wouldn't be happy with his or Morgan's appointment





I was reading an interview with him and he expressed his desire of coaching in the NRL soon, all I could think was how p*ssed off I would be if I was a Salford fan and the first thing the new coach said was pretty much "this is just a pit stop as soon as the NRL comes knocking I'll be on my way"

Daniel Anderson would do very nicely, we could do alot worse than him. Get him on board!

According to him on twitter, he is not interested. "Staying in Aus".

Lets be clear, that any TM, Dave Woods, Parish, Morgan, Gentle is only taking a SL job to facilitate an NRL job.

Others like Milward or Anderson may differ. That doesnt make it a bad call, but you have to be realistic.

I think we are not in the righ place for John Kear, and thats not bias or anything, I just dont think it is right for him or us.

I have made my views clear earlier in this thread, but the strange aversion to a person passing through is weird, there is only Wigan and Warrington at the moment can probably reject people on that basis.

JM has not been given permission to talk to Cas and Cas have not had permission to talk to him.So says our chairman so i hope this puts a few minds at rest.

Our chairman has just gone on radio humberside stating what i said above and if Justin was interviewed friday then Castleford are guilty of an illegal approach.

Not really an illegal approach when HKR agreed to it and are talking to other coaches themselves.

But at the minute Morgan is probably 5th or 6th choice, it will take a lot of break downs on contracts for him to get the job.

Oh and btw, only daft when it isn't true, when it happened though well he's put himself in a dodgy position with you as fans hasn't he.

I can say Terry Matterson is getting the HKR job, doesn't mean anything though.

Radio Leeds has also said today Morgan was given permission (this is from Morgan's agent). I'll take the interview + agent saying permission was given here.

Im guessing that radio leeds said "we beleive after speaking to JMs agent that permission was given"If radio leeds actually interviewed JMs agent on air and he stated that then i would agree with you but our chairman Hudgell was actually asked on humberside and gave the answers as above.

Don't know if you're trolling, being naughty, happy Cas won't be interviewing him or disappointed your going to be stuck with the Great Spender for another unsuccessful season ??

Personally, I hope you're right. There are numerous contenders for the job with better credentials than your boy. So why waste time spent better elsewhere

The coaches being interviewed during the week will be the real favourites, it includes Steve Georgallis & Peter Gentle (obviously these will be video conferences).

The best 2 coaches available for the job too.
