| Not too sure about all the deserved to win comments because that wasnt the way I saw it at all. Didnt think Huddersfield were that good and despite them beating us twice and being 4 places above us in the league there really is not that much between the two teams.
Our poor decision making cost us again but can't fault the lads for effort.
We are playing some good stuff and the defence has really tightened up but why oh why but in such a great defensive effort and then throw it away.Don't want to take away anything from Huddersfield but our inability to do the basics has cost us again.
It's all ifs and buts but I can only echo the comments about sherwin and hudson because had we had that experience in there then I don't think we would have blown it in the manner we did.
The penalties we give away is my main issue because we were completing decents sets followed by a good kick and chase and had them down by there own line and then we'd undo the good work by giving away a silly penalty. The evans incident stands out.
Ryan McGoldrick really really let us down IMO. We were on top and Huddersfield were rattled and were flying into tackles.
McGoldrick reacted and gave away and penalty and for me that was the turning point. As captain Ryan should have been able to rise above that.

| We need a calmer man as captain, and a calmer man to play alongside Rangi, who was brilliant! I keep harping on about it but WESTERMAN needs to go to standoff. He is a calmer player can read the game so well and has a kicking game. We desperately need another option for the kicking game
TM is wasting the lads talents using him as a tackling machine and taking stupid crash balls in the middle of the park.
Goldy at stand off is one paced, everything he does is 90 miles an hour. That pace is much better used on the occasion when joining the line from fullback, it's less predictable for the opposition.
As for the cries that Shifty would have made the difference? Just look at the home game against the giants. we were in control of that game and blew it, we blew it against Leeds, we blew it against Hull-all with Shifty. We look more dangerous with Rangi at 7, granted time will tell.

Thanks though.'"
Outscoring Cas three tries to two may be one reason. Another may be that Huddersfield created far more chances - admittedly the majority of them were bombed, thereby keeping Cas in the game. Cas, on this occasion, weren't good enough to take advantage.

Yup, downside of a young squad is that they don't settle well. It will improve, next year you'll have the same skill/pace but on wiser shoulders - frightening stuff for the rest of us.

| Up until the last 20 I thought you'd done enough, Huddersfield were starting to panic - but then they started roughing you up big time and you reacted and lost your heads a bit. I think you lost it rather than them winning it. Once Huddersfield realised that the ball back inside wasn't going to open you up like a kipper (or Trinity last week!) they seemed a bit clueless.
I think you'll be a better team for it, probably not this season but certainly next. Anyway, hard luck - and thanks for making it an entertaining game.

did you watch the game i thought all those chances we blew were outside on the Wings ie Aspinwall and Hodgson. Never mind you stick with your stereotypes and comments you pick up on threads without understanding them.

Yep, you blew them on the wings - - you were trying that 'cos you couldn't get up the middle! Don't know what you beef is about 'stereotypes', your strength is in your pack and Cas's is in their open play - facts, not dogma. Nowt to be ashamed of, it's just that when you play it wide you come up with more errors cos that is not your strength - and watching a good pack in action is every bit as entertaining as watching a nippy winger IMO.
Don't be so sensitive - there's only one team I dislike and it ain't Huddersfield or Cas!!

| Quote: sgtwilko "you have just totally contradicted ya self big time!! you start by saying im wrong then go on to talk about how hudds off load game tired you out.
a good defence has the physical and mental toughness to get the job done and a smart defence would do all it could to shut the offload down.
you were physically not up to the task because you couldnt stop huddss scoring and as you said yourself they tierd you out.
you tried to score points even though you were winning that show you are mentally weak and had little faith in your defence to get you home.
and you showed you are not a smart team and played dumb football by not shutting down the offload and tryiing to score when all the pressure was on hudds to win the game.
i love the way cas throw the ball around. your attacking ideas are pretty and slick. but your club need to learn when to holden and when to fold em.'"
No contradiction whatsoever. Defence was excellent - the gradual loss of control over the collision was due to Huddersfield's extra energy. They were fresher because they didn't have to work as hard when we were in possession, ergo our attack (lacking direction, penetration and composure) lost us the game not, as you said, our defence. Cause and effect. Your analysis isn't far off (apart from the massively presumptious psychological assessment about lacking faith) but the conclusion still seems incorrect to me.
