Not that it helps us now, but Morley and Carvell have both been cited and face bans of 1-3 games. Westerman and McGoldrick got warnings (not sure what for in Joe's case)

But what if Thaler's view was blocked ? The onus must be with the video ref Ian Smith to instruct the referee what action he should take.

As it turns out,no they did not. Fans always scream for blood at what looks like a bad tackle against one of their players. They want players sent off. Well knowing what we know now,had carvell and/or morley been sent off on saturday then they would have been dismissed wrongly,cas given an unfair advantage and had they won the game on the back of that advantage it would have been an unjustified result,however cas would still have been given the two points. Had it been castleford players commiting those so called "offences" then I am sure thatt 99% of you would have seen nothing in them. The reaction of the crowd was an attempt by the cas fans to intimidate the ref and secure an unfair advantage for your team. Fortunately he did not take the bait. Had morley been sent off and you won the game on the back of your one man advantage only for morley to be later found not guilty would you now be offering the two points to warrington? Of course not!!!!!!!!

No I'm not. Carvell was guilty and therefore should've been sent off - the lifting of his ban is as mystifying as Morley being found not guilty, when the video evidence was there for all to see.
The most serious issue here is that players are getting away with doing these things and as a result will continue to do them. That will only result in players picking up serious injuries as a result of foul play which is unsportsmanlike; not in the best interests of the game; and completely unacceptable. |
