Not too bothered by him leaving to be honest. I think he could be a good player and to be honest will stand a better chance of that at a club like Hull. But for Cas and next season we need some players that are ready now. We have enough home grown players coming through and I have no doubt that Joe leaving will give another kid a chance to step up and develop.

Just a sad reflection of where this club is at. We're effectively a championship feeder side trying to survive in super league and if the top sides want our players then there's not much we can do about it.

Instead it seems we have to be content to take them back on vastly increased wages once the top sides no longer want them. Joe Arundel is a very old centre and was one of the key performers in our side last season. It would have been great to keep hold of him but we just don't have the finances to do that.

If the two signings are Shenton and Webster then that is very little to get excited about IMO.

After 15 consequtive years of buying a season ticket I'm going to struggle to put my hand in my pocket again next year and won't do until there are changes at the top. The only thing that could see me changing my mind would be some extremely positive news from the club about the stadium and the clubs future. All we've had this year is bad news after bad news and I just need to know that there's light at the end of the tunnel. I, like probably most of us here followed the club through two relegations but back then there was at least hope for the future. I think that's all we need really and if there isn't realistic hope then we should be told and we could at least prepare ourselves for life in the championship.

Hull seem to be doing quite well off CT's youth development. Westerman and now Arundel. icon_sad.gif

Agreed with the above poster - we desparately need something positive from this club.

You're not a championship club. Your crowds stood up well when you came down with attendances of 5,000 and 6,000 a regular occurence. Not many current SL clubs could do that if they were relegated.

We might get kicked out if the RFL bow down to pressure to reduce SL to 12 clubs and don't forget - someone will have to go down to accomodate Fev.

True little rich, our support I would say is superleague level and is better than quite a few SL sides. The problem is that we don't have the infrastructure or the resources to be an SL side and that will remain so unless we get the new stadium. Thanks for the nice comment though and I will gladly return that in saying that I greatly miss our trips to the new Shay. Halifax are a great club, with great support and are certainly a club who I feel deserve a crack at superleague again.

I've really not enjoyed that much about the past few years as it seems that our future will not be forged on the pitch. It almost seems that the sport is kind of irrelevant as the main concern being a CAS fan is whether we can get a new stadium. If we are going to get our stadium then great, if not then I'd probably rather be playing in the championship where I can just focus on the sport and enjoy competitive games week in, week out.

At the end of the day, I go to Cas to watch exciting rugby, which means something and the franchise system has kind of killed that. Instead we're just a bottom half SL side playing for nothing, with the chance of finishing 8th the only realistic goal. The main action at our club (the stadium developments) are all hush hush and all we get told is that they can't tell us anything.

Ah abandon your club when it needs you the most, a fine idea! I felt the same before the start of last season but if you don't experience the lows, you won't appreciate the highs when they occasionally pop round. Keep the Faith!!

Cas Fan, I agree with Littlerich, and for what it is worth many Hull FC fans think of your club as the team that they would support should anything bad happen to Hull.

Thats true, me included. There have always been pretty good relations between the two clubs and their fans and we enjoy coming to your place.

Millward says Cas have been compensated a good amount...so with the Jamie Ellis rumour him + cash might have been agreed.
