Quote: TrinitarianWF2 "Wakefield have never been in the sort of debt (director or otherwise) that Cas are in now.

When we went into administration our level of debt was well below the £2.5M you owe the Fultons.
Debts is debt, it doesn't matter if he's been nice enough to prop you up, you'll still have to pay back one day. He may have kept you afloat but the debt is just one reason why a remortgage of WR wouldn't be on the cards. There's a huge line waiting for you to cash your asset. Carlsberg too.

Not sticking up for Richardson, or whitewashing our historic problems, just stating a fact about financial mismanagement.'"

You've missed the bit about WTW making a 1.2 million loss for 2011 in the first year under new ownership.
Correct debt is debt and I have no doubt Mr Glover (does anyone on here call him Andrew ?) is nice enough to prop you up also. icon_wink.gif You will have to pay this back one day too I'm sure.

Quote: frank5613 "i under stand what your saying but if we sell were debt free, even if it's a few quid, and like you said im not sticking up for bad management because it's happened on both sides, we are two different teams & have very hot rivalry, if GH comes of ?? it would be great if NM comes of ?? it would be great, but if their is only one and both clubs had to share, it would not be the end of the world for me, their would have to be compromise on both sides, both clubs would be debt free, and both clubs could take off, some fans would raver see both clubs suffer before share, but why at the end of the day the fans would only see each other twice a year, but thats my opinion and it is not shared by every one, i would rather see two top six west Yorkshire teams rather than two scraping to make the play offs'"

Actually that is a good point. Wakefield will not be debt free if we share the stadium.
In fact I can't see any advantage for Wakefield Trinity to share.

Any saved costs would probably not be passed on but there wouldn't be much anyway.
Cas would benefit greatly as they'd keep any money from sale of WR.

Dont get me wrong i would rather keep both clubs as totally separate business you in your ground, an us i our ground, but if any thing happens it wont be down to us, we can all kick and scream and refuse to follow the club, but it will all be up to the people who run the clubs, on both sides their are hardened fans with their views but like i say their is no new stadiums built hopefully you will get sorted and we will get sorted, but i see no future for any SL, club what goes into the CH,ship,

To be fair that figure also includes substantial payments to certain creditors of the old regime, upholding ST's in the first year and potentially construction costs of the new roofs.

Interesting reading some of the comments in this thread but come on guys lets not get into a arguement about money again.
Two great SL clubs that are as iconic and proud as any need to plan survival for the good and future of RL in this area. Stop this off field bitching and lets focus on rugby.
2013 could be the year that shapes rugby in the 5 towns area!!!

Rumour has it that CT board are gonna meet soon to discuss something on a similar lines. I think as supporters we have to bite the bullet and look to the future.

Without doubt the most sensible post on this topic, well said.

Sadly, bitching is more important than the future of the game in this area to a few from both sides.

All hypothetical of course because we have been trying to sell WR for the last 6 seasons to no avail.

Quote: Fully "No, it hasn't been explored and nor will the BoD explore it.

And no, it wouldn't make sense. I'd rather own my own stadium than be renting one.'"

Like you own your stadium!

Take away all the loans and restrictions etc held against it and you'd be lucky if you owned cubicle two in the main stand toilet block. No club really owns its ground these days. Wigan rent, Hull, Saints and Warrington and others either rent or own a share in the stadium company. However this is not the same as an asset in that the club cannot borrow against the land value. Even the much vaunted Headingley is not owned by the club but by a consortium led by Mr Caddick.

The truth is that modern property prices (even when it's good land and WR isn't) are not high enough to support the debt and running costs of a modern SL club. A stadium like WR certainly will never produce enough capital to allow it to be improved. There was a time in the days of members clubs when it mattered but not now.

I think you need to be more realistic.

what ever the loans are against WR, it is still owned by the club, what ever the club do decide to do they will have to do the majority of it themselves,(we don't have them little bowls) for a fan of a club who don't even own the locks on the front gates, i don't think Cas will be taking advice from over the common on how to handle it's funds, or lack of them

If you sold WR off and paid off all debts/loans how much do you think the Cas club would have left over.

And at least we lock our front gates, can't believe you've just used that line icon_lol.gif

their might not be a lot left but the club would still be in the black, no ground,, but in the black, & to take stall in what a Person who only posts negativity wont give you a even tilt on what happened, if a gate was left open it only gives you entry to the car park...

like most of the people who post what will happen next im going to have to learn to take it with a pinch of salt and wait for the official announcements, i get drawn in to easily ( no offense to you EL Ray )

Good question but both clubs have debts apparently! - as a second CCJ for £10,000 was awarded against WTWC's 3 days ago (Thats £16,000 in total since the 29th November)

So you can't answer my question then, maybe a bit of "nearer" homeworks needed icon_sad.gif
