I feel strange defending the team after losing without scoring a single point but I felt we stood up well tonight with what we had.

A lot of pressure on McGoldrick's shoulders tonight to be creative in attack and whilst we were unsuccessful there, we held our own for much of the game and never threw the towel in.

The youngsters stepped up against a big Hudds side.

Better losing with a performance like tonight than what we served up last week against Wakey IMO.

Hoping Thompson gets to see more game time at FB though, thought he looked good tonight. Hopefully him and Cooper aren't seriously injured, both appeared to take knocks.

Thought we stepped up to the mark tonight which was definitely needed. I'm still not convinced but it was more of a fight than the second halves of the last two games.

I just hope we play like that when we have some bodies back and some of our strike players

Don't think you would have won this game even at full strength, but Matterson made his point, and your young lads gave a very good account of themselves against a very difficult team to beat. No disgrace in that performance tonight.

From a neutral's POV ... although you were nilled, I thought your guys put in so much more effort in the match last night than against us. It really showed. It was such a shame about the forward pass out of the scrum in the second half as I think that is what did them mentally for a while, although they seemed to pick themselves up and stop the flow of points going Hudds' way, which is a good thing. I've always had a soft spot for Cas and so I do hope you get your strike players back soon and can get back to winning ways and playing the expansive, enjoyable RL that you do.

i would just like to say well done to TM and the team for last nights performance, that is all i have wanted to see this season, a side that will go out and give it there all (even though it was not the result we were looking for)and at last he is giving some of our young lads a go. i hope this can continue now for the rest of the season, and i also hope the message will have got to the rest of the squad that if you take the you lose your place eusa_clap.gif eusa_clap.gif icon_thumb.gif

I called Thompson to play at FB and I thought he was decent, potential to be a very good player. Just a shame we were so poor in the halves and lacked creativity.

Great defensive effort from Cas, there must be some sore bodies after that game, as they stuck to the task manfully and snuffed out some Giants moves.
All the best for the rest of the season, and with that sort of commitment things will turn round.

As Above another Big well done to the lads that played last night from a Huddersfield fan, the young kid Thompson is gonna make a very good fullback and suggest you give him some game time and sign him up long term (if he isn't already).
Why play McGoldrick at fullback if you have a kid like that who can take a high ball under pressure, tackle big forwards and chime into the line at the right time.
I think when alot of cas fans saw the team they thought you were in for a right hammering as would a few of the Huddersfield fans, you came with a gameplan and stuck to it so despite the nil it's a big well done from me and playing like that against alot of teams you would have won the game on another night.
Well done TM as well for making a stand, maybe the Cas players will start to realise that unless they buckle down and do the job they are paid for others will come in who do want to play and give their all for the shirt.
Good luck for the rest of the season cos it can only get better on the injury side of things icon_thumb.gif

I'd like to add my own congratulations on your performance last night.

Even though we were never in danger of losing [yes, |I know I'm biaised!], your lads never gave up - even running to form the srums in the dying minutes.

What is an extremely rare event for me, I, alo9ng with many more home supporters, applauded your team off the pitch at the end of the game.

I know it doesn't mean much, but a moral victory to you guys. Well done.
