Orr is signed up, not heard about hornby, would be fantastic to have 3 halfbacks.

| Do we really want Danny Orr back?
I feel like we're starting to go backwards signing all our old players like Jacko etc. Wonder if we'll re-sign Boyle one day?

Orr has proven this season he can still cut the mustard and control a game. Having him spelling with hooker means we have someone coming off the bench and providing fresh ideas and momentum (which is what we need!)
Plus, it's an extra body at half-back if the dreaded injury curse arrives.

Totally agree about Orr. If he can do a job at hooker for us we'll be laughing. Hudson clearly can't manage the whole game and we're poorer when he's off the field.

45047_1329226743.jpg The saying 'bent as a 9 bob note' has now been dropped.....corrected phrase is 'bent as the RFL!':d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_45047.jpg |

| I'm not so keen on the idea of Orr coming back. In my opinion his best days are behind him in, and appart from Cas I couldn't really see him getting a position at any other superleague club. I think that signing Orr would be for old time sentimental reasons, rather than to progress the team forward.
If we do then it should not be for anything more than a 1 year stop gap, whilst such as Brierly comes of age.

I agree. His best days are behind him.
Over the past year he has shown some good touches, but thats it. We need a younger, enthusiastic, talented player who has some SL (or NRL) experience.
I agree we need some back up and a more in depth squad and maybe Danny would be good for that. But we need someone more long term

| After watching Orr dismantle us down at The Stoop recently...I can't see how his signing would be a backwards step. The guy is at the top of his game at the minute, and would an excellent signing..IMO

| I don't think danny orr is past it, so is worth having back and i am sure he would bust a gut back in a Cas shirt. Danny has some great qualities and can do a role for us i am sure. Just look at the pensioner on mega money we have just offloaded, signing sherwin was a step back imho.
We could use Danny to bring on some young talent if he has signed..

Just to throw this into the discussion
Brent Sherwin: b 20.03.78
Danny Orr: b 17.05.78
That is all.

| Very fair point tb, i just think Danny might give a toss about the club if he returns and won't be on the lottery winners money.
They might be the same age but Danny looks in better shape.

| don't have the knowledge to comment on anyone's wage - but fair points in return. I'd just point out that they're both 33 next, an age at which you're always gambling with injuries/ fitness. I'd be reasonably happy if we do sign Danny - so long as we don't regard him as some sort of returning prodigal, put too much on his shoulders and them turn on him when it turns out he doesn't walk on water.
edit: tb
