| Quote: Georgie Best on a Bloomer "Sorry, but this is just nonsense and designed to wind up people on this board. You can't back this up with any evidence whatsoever and have proved yourself to be a laughing stock.'"
No it wasnt, it was a simple reply to a person that claimed Bulls youth policy doesnt exceeds Castlefords. I think it does and as it goes, Ritz is a Bulls fan and I wasnt even speaking or aiming anything at 1 single Castleford fan. So step down off that rather large GeeGee, please.
I's struggle to name 7 top class or very good players that Cas have produced recently(recently being since the start of Super League and since there has been an emphasis on clubs producing there own stars), however, I can name a few decent ones so maybe i'd scrape seven. So thats all the evidence I need, on the contrary I can names quite a few high quality names that have come through Bradfords youth system.
Ive got you a lil challenge, why dont you name me a starting 17 from players developed by Castleford and their youth system(Thats played in their first and youth/reserve teams if you didnt know) in the past 15 or so years, and after you have done that, i will name you exactly the same but with players from Bradford, then we'll see who has the better youth policy. We can then measure up which players then have the most succesful and distinguished careers. (How would you like to do that, years at top clubs, international caps, winners rings, how?)
You taking me up on that Georgie?

| Mike, don't fall out with the Cas lot, there's a good chap? They are generally a decent crowd (although admittedly there is that tb chap... ) and we usually get on OK with them (especially when they are playing Leeds) and like going to their place. Surely its their bosum pals down the other end of the Normanton Bypass that you ought to be poking?

I've neither the time or inclination to dredge up 17 from the last 15 years but it took about 10 seconds to undermine your "evidence" and name 7 very good Cas products playing in SL now:- Watts, Westerman, Shenton, Huby, Godwin, Orr, Lunt.

Sorry but Huby, Godwin and Westerman dont count as very good, only mediocre and decent, so yeah, scraping 7 as I said.
Somebody take the challenge please it should be fun to compare the two clubs success in devloping juniors from within their ranks.

| It's amusing that Bradford trolls now have to scour the forums of 'lesser' clubs trying to start arguments. It aptly highlights the plight of this once above average club into one scrabbling in the lower echelons of the Super League table. Just waiting for usernames such as 'Bulls4Top10finish2015' to emerge...

I just think it's funny that a Bulls fan started this thread and implied that Cas are no longer a classy attacking side; when they support one of the most dull, boring and unentertaining teams in Rugby League.

What fun would there be in either set of fans naming 17 players who the other set could childishly deride as mediocre/decent regardless of their actual quality? Life (to those who have one) is far too short for such an exercise in infantility.
PS If you don't count Huby/Westerman/Godwin what about internationals such as Lynch/Olima/Pryce. And are you the only fan I know of who doesn't rate Richie Owen? Jeez I'm up to 11 already and haven't really thought about it.

| Because you know your list will be blown apart by mine is why you wont do it. Like I said earlier, Lynch is about the best youve produced. Pryce who? The Wayne Variety? You might be upto 11 players, but 11 very good players it is not.
Just please stop trying to kid yourself that Cas's record and policy of youth development is anything remotely similar to ours in terms of numbers and quality.

You seem to be mistaking me for someone who gives a flying **** about your youth development....I was just reponding to questions about ours. However I note you seem to have resorted to the "'I'll show you mine if you show me your's" approach to comparison of products, suggesting you're the only kid around here...and a tiresome one at that if you persist with the argument that established internationals such as Shenton and Elima are not very good players. Please don't feel obliged to reply, I sense a distinct swing of the tedium barometer.

I'm laughing at how pathetic you are, how intensely you want to get into an argument over something that is essentially subjective and really doesn't matter in your day-to-day life (I assume).
But to answer your 'challenge', obviously the whole youth system production debate is seen through rose tinted spectacles and is a matter of opinion (for example, only an idiot would label a player with representative honours as 'mediocre'). Personally I would assess Bradford's development system as having produced more international class players over the 15 years of Super League. Over the licensing period, I would suggest that Castleford have produced more international class players, with two home-grown players getting international honours last season (Shenton and Westerman), with a third (Lynch) who should have been down under but for injury and a fourth (Owen) who would have been knocking on the door had it not been for breaking his leg in the first few rounds of 2010.
With two players in the England academy side that just smashed the Aussies (captain Adam Milner and Jordan Thompson) who have started to establish themselves in the first team at Cas, plus a number of other homegrown players expected to become first team regulars at Cas in 2011, the future looks bright and, after a number of years of mismanagement in the early part of the 2000s, the traditionally good Castleford production line is back on track.
As for Bradford's current youth production system, I don't know, but trust you can offer an honest assessment.

| Never said Shenton or Elima wernt good players. Yeah, yours isnt very good at all. A 2/4 of very good players is all youve managed in 15 years, which is pretty darn shocking. The rest of your list are journey men and mediocre squad fillers. In comparison ours have produced a steady record of full internationals, multiple medal winners, GB Captains, men of steel and beyond.
Just go for it, lets see what you come up with. Personally I think youre holding back because you wont like what you see.
