| Quote: westyorkylad "To be honest guys getting on at Crusaders about their attendance, seems a bit narrow minded. They are a start up club as far as SL is concerned and they dont seem to be doing too bad, good luck to them, I for one, hope its a sucess.
As far as licenses are concerned, our future is in our own hands, and it has been for some time, we need to start laying bricks and concrete at Glasshoughton, then our status as a super league club will be assured.
Getting on at Crusaders and deriding their efforts just makes us look petty and childish, after all the rules were fairly clear when we got the SL licence and not much has realy changed.'"
I agree we shouldn't be slagging other clubs off and should be looking at making sure our own house is in order, but I do feel that our plans have been hit by the state of the economy and that the RFL should take account of this, also Crusaders did move the goalpost somewhat when they moved to Wrexham, which is not so much of a development area with its close proximity to Widnes, if Crusaders were still based in South Wales it would be different story.
I have to say I don't like the noises coming from the RFL courtesy of their mouthpiece John Ledger, who initially said the best 14 applications would get a licence, then appeared to change this to the best 13 and a Championship club, then said it may not even be as many as 13 current Superleague clubs who keep their place.
I wonder how long Mr Ledger will last at the RFL, knowing how they treat their Press Officers, with Harry Gration and Dave Callaghan leaving RedHall out of total frustration with the men who run the game. Our sport is being run by a bunch of amateurs not befitting greatest game, it doesn't feel good, but I have to say that the RFL should learn from Rugby Yawnion, who have turned their game into a real spectator sport, it is still nowhere near as good as our game, but they have got people flocking through the turnstyles and believe it or not they still have promotion of the team finishing top of their second tier and relegation of the team who finish bottom of their premiership.

Listen at you...... can i not have an opinion.......are you a Nazi?????? I was probably playing and watching RL before you knew what your John Thomas was for.
you dont deserve the spot in SL you've moved already and without the dosh from the RFL would go bust pretty quickly. RL expansion, i'm all for it aslong as its done right and done logically, not on a whim for the sake of SKY and big plans from a little sports governing body. been to Wales once, on a family holiday never to return, never met such a ignorant, backwater set of people in my years, and that include people from Wakefield. enjoy your time in SL, dont forget your only on borrowed time.

Your welcome to have an opinion, everyone is, just try and put in a structured way not just a small minded rant.

And your proof of 'dosh' is?

Well I'm sure you not visiting again won't be a loss
The vast majority of your posts are just vitriolic and not just against Crusaders either, is this some kind of anger therapy for you? BTW the best of your vitriolic posts is about Crusaders beating Leeds, really does make me laugh.

How bad did your season get after the game at Neath?

| lol Hate all things welsh thats before the RFL hoisted you into SL above much more worthy teams, but the franchise system is there to be abused to suit their own needs, lets hope common sense prevails eventually and your cast by the way side. as for the Leeds statement i hate Leeds just slightly more than the welsh, which ever team plays Leeds is my second favourite team.....dont get too excited that means i support wigan twice a year at least.

I understood why the RFL gave Celtic a licence when they did (not that I agreed with it), but once they moved to North Wales, I thought the licence should have been revoked, also not sure how all that went on stacks up, as far as having a sound finances are concerned.
I have personally found the people of South Wales to be very friendly on my visits there for holidays and to play and watch rugby league ...never had a problem with them, although I have found on several visits to North Wales, that the people of North Wales seem to be somewhat less friendly, this appears to reach a peak when you get to Anglesey.
As far as Leeds are concerned, I did used to dislike our near neigbours with a passion, not sure why that was the case, but it pains me to say in that I find myself in a position now where I actually admire what Leeds have done as a club, they do seem to have got to the top without cheating the system (unlike some other clubs who shall remain nameless). Leeds even have two Cas lads at the helm, who seem to be doing an excellent job there, more's the pity they're not doing it for us. They haven't had a helping hand from the local council with their ground (unlike most other clubs in Supereague) and they have a good record of bringing their own youngsters through.
I hope we give Leeds a good hiding on Friday night (although sneaking a win over them in the last few minutes might feel even better, just as they did to us last season), of course we also need Hull to do a job on Crusaders otherwise even a win over the old enemy won't even take us back into a play off spot.

Some might say that fielding Dick Van Dyke and 5 other illegal players through their NL1 promotion campaign was also very questionable about whether they deserved to rettain a Superleague spot over those who competed within the rules. In light of recent events and fines etc, imagine what the RFL would have done to us. Without mincing words....it was cheating basically. I remember how Cas felt with the Wigan and Stuart Fielden farce. Enuff said!
There are some funny stuff being posted on here by our Welsh neighbours, and their claims of success...god bless them!!
Firstly their pride in the modest increase in home attendances. The sad thing is that it is not due to the Welsh contingent....it's actually due to the ground being more accessible, than Cardiff was, for visiting fans. How the Crusaders take credit for this as their successful development I'll never know! If any other accessible NL1 or NL2 team got into Superleague, I'd guess the that their attendances would go up by a couple of thousand or so. Just think, we could do that without the RFL bending rules to suit and bank rolling them, and we could all sit back and say what a success we'd made of the job. A Joke basically!!
Also, I'm reading posts about 2500 hard core fans.....yet on some game the gates have dipped to a reported 1000 to 1500 on occasions where unbiased commentators have speculated at no more than 500 to 800 present. Just exactly how hard core is this 2500???
Yep, you are 1 place above us. Credit to you for what happens on the field!!! I can't say fairer than that. However, it's everything which the RFL allows to happen in the background, that is hard to accept.

If you can't read, then don't write, and certainly don't quote if you haven't even read the post.....you make yourself look a right plonker!!!
What is it about the words 'unbiased comentators', that you don't understand???? The commentators, with no axe to grind, speculated at how few were in visual attendance compared to the declared gate......not me...the commentators!!! Write to them and tell them that they are talking crap. Doh!!!
Again in terms of your attendances, if your own so called hardcore fans won't travel within Wales from one ground to another, then they aren't all that 'hard core' are they?
As I mentioned previously, yet along with the comment on Dick van Dyke and chums you ignored, it's not your home support which has grown significantly, it's the number of visiting fans.

Which obviously has nothing to do with the inversely proportional reduction in travel distance...

Or better still you write to the RFL citing your evidence of unbiased commentators that Crusaders are fiddling the figures, also write to the press association regarding their inaccurate reporting of attendances and finally HMRC regarding the fact Crusaders are over reporting crowds and over paying revenue. (While you're there let them know that contrary to popular belief Hull teams do not have 8 million away fans). Hopefully one of them will give a damn.
On the comments on Jace Van Dijk (see what I did there GRUBS, spelt his name right) The investigation by the relevant authority found against one player not having the appropriate checks completed to work in the country and they were subsequently fined by the relevant authority, I don't seem to recall the RFL saying that the registration system for playing in NL1 was out of order, there is a difference between the two. That said it's gone quiet on what the RFL involvement or any further actions by the RFL but that's pretty much like the appeal from Cas that has not been mentioned anywhere as lodged or heard (best leave sleeping dogs lie huh?)
