| Top and bottom of it was that we were absoloutely aweful and Leeds are coming into form for the run-in. We have to write it off as a bad day at the office and move on.
Leeds were far too fast for us, and although in the first half our forwards stood up to them, our backs were so weak and slow. Wainwright showed to me why people think he doesn't deserve a contract as he was constantly out of position and McGuire only had to run along the line, he was drawn in, the ball would go out to Smith or Donald and they had a 2 man overlap.
Senior was on form, Hall against Ford was never a fair match up as other than pace, Ford showed again he was out of his depth unfortunately, he made far too many errors for a Super League player. I know it is harsh to single out a particular player as everyone was shocking, as the number of errors coming from our own line was pathetic.
However credit to Leeds, they played very well, and although by the end of the game they didn't need to do too much to score, some of their handling was absolute class and the speed of play was outstanding.
You never know, this may either bring out a good response for the run in as they should be determined to put it right for the fans from the players or they may capitulate and our season could be over. Either way, I really hope tonight showed we need to improve the squad next year, and it won't be acceptable to just bring in a couple of average players as seems to be the case, we need to bring in several quality players to even think of competing.

Agree with every word.
I was impressed when Ford chased back and almost caught Hall (i think??) i think i was about the only one applauding
I doubt we will see much of a response regards recruitment, they'll just see it as a bad day at the office and think what we have is enough..... When clearly it isn't

| Quote yougengis="yougengis"Your lot didn't really turn up last night and, coupled with a horrific refereeing display by Thaler, it didn't make for good watching.
Scoreline pretty much tells the tale, although is rather flattering to Leeds as there were at least 4 of their scores which came from decisions that just made me speechless. That'd still make about 10 scores to 2 though, but I'd probably be rather pi$$ed off if I were a Cas fan both with the team that gave up in the second half, and with Thaler's ineptitude.'"
Cas didn't turn up for one match......your lot have been AWOL all season.
If we had a choice we'd play you every week
Simply a bad day at the office for Cas....it happens....Good luck with the play offs Tigers

great and fair report. all joking aside you lot have improved a great deal on last season and you can't ask for more than that. get a few more players in and try and improve next season. it's a slow journey, one step at a time. it could take another 4 or 5 seasons for you to challenge for the top 4 but i'm in no doubt you will get there. just be patient

| Quote 12noon="12noon"Holiday i have no idea. Team selection we were missing players, but that team did sound a bit odd. Half time we had already lost, but we shouldn't just collapse like that. Unable to defend our 20 line sometimes. And the common denominator yeah you are probably right.'"
It's simple, Cas only touched the ball around 3 times in that 2nd half. No one can win with possession like that. Also Kylie was fantastic and ran your forward ragged with brutal defense.

It wasnt the ref that beat us, that was the worst we have played this season (you cant win a game if you knock on every time you get near you opponants line), but some of the descisions were certainly perplexing, going to watch the highlights before i comment too much.

| That just shouldn't have happened last night...but it did and it's unfathomable !
We were in relatively good form (apart from the HKR second half), we are in play off contention, points difference is critical, it was a local derby, there were 17,000 people there...and they threw the towel in !
It just doesn't make sense. On the whole team spirit has been good this year, there are times we have shown mental strength and all the good things that have happened this year, could have potentially been washed down the pan with an inept display and awful attitude shown by the players.
There's only one thing that can partly erase this debacle and that is to win against Wigan. If they fail to do that and show similar attitude problems, they will get 'crucified' next week. The season is in danger of fizzling out in the space of four games and send us all into a period of post-season disappointment. Any positivity that has been created this year, has been severely clouded with that 'performance' from the players.
My glass is half full, I'm positive, I do believe that BEFORE the Leeds game we had made substantial progress, we are still in with a shout of the play offs, but last night was very much out of character and aligns fears that there may be something more deep rooted.
There's no point us sulking, we can't do anything about our situation - the 17 players that play Wigan, Terry Matterson and the coaching staff have to close all doors this week, stick together and put the effort in against Wigan and get the 2pts. Defeat is not an option.
The players will get clapped off week in and week out if they give us effort. The attitude on offer yesterday from the players, will not be tolerated by supporters.
