Joe Westerman was a better player at Cas. Has gone backwards since he left for Hull.

He went backwards, but is now is like the player he was when he came through at Cas.

I think Sneyd we be a good signing for us, he should be playing behind a good pack and he has a kicking game that we have lacked since we lost Cooke.

Well he has my good wishes. Dont think he is anywhere near the finished article and makes plenty of mistakes and not worth 100k but a lot of potential. BTW his short kicking game is good but his long kicking needs improvement.
Also agree about Westerman what I have seen this year he looks to be near his best.

Trust me, after seeing a succesion of failed or injured (or both) halfbacks come and go from the club the last six years, if he can reproduce his Cas form for Hull, it will be worth every penny. The likes of Head, Dykes, Thorman, Miller, Long and Seymour have all not worked out for various reason.

I wasnt just talking about half backs HFC have had a lot of players from other clubs which have been good players before moving to the black and whites. Westerman was talked about being international class at CAS and wouldnt have been shocked if he was the progress he was making before the FC move.

You can say that about either club in SL, we have had loads of players who have improved and done well at Hull in the last few years and a few that haven't done so well, but in pretty sure that could be said about most teams.

Halfback has been a real problem position, with mostly failures.

Westerman has blown hot and cold since he joined us but this year he's been excellent. O'Loughlin deserves the England 13 shirt because of what he's done in recent years, but if we are picking solely on this seasons form Westerman in a shoe in and McNamara is a bigger fool than I thought if he doesn't at least include him in the squad.

As for our record of developing players. Well we've signed a few guys with promise in recent seasons and the majority havnt worked. But we've done well with guys who have come through out academy recently and Thompson has played better this season that I saw him do for you guys.

If you go back a few more years we've taken the likes of Carvell and Raynor from being no bodies to internationals. So indeed plenty of our recent signings haven't worked out, but there are worse places to play your rugby. I just hope our fans don't jump on his back if he doesn't hit the ground running.

Westy has been floating around in second row purgatory for three years and is much better now he's back at 13 playing like a proper 13 should, I'd say he's guaranteed for England if the coach wasn't such a doofus so you can't really be sure.

There was a Westerman in your 19s tonight, is he any relation?
