| If I may be so bold as to bring this back to talking about the refereeing.
Casting my memory back to 2011, we had a cracking game against Leeds at Cas. Unfortunately, the key talking point after the game were contentious refereeing decisions against Cas that changed the shape of the game. At the time, neutrals such as the commentators suggested that the referee had got it wrong!
Friday's game was a case of 'de ja vu' in terms of the neutral commentators again saying that the referee got it wrong! and yes it happened to favour Leeds again!
Only the most staunch of Cas fans would try to suggest that we would have 'definitely' won either game and that is certainly not what anyone is saying here. However when neutrals such as the commentators refer to certain contentious refereeing decisions as 'game breakers', question are always going to be asked! Even more so when the same team appears to be benefiting from these time and time again.

sgtwilko - I made my statement based on fact.....in that in both cases it was a key talking point about the game by the commentators both last year and this year.
You seem to have things backwards!! In your eyes anything that is a known and proven fact is a load of rubbish, yet anything that is a load of rubbish is in your eyes a fact!! Do you use the same logic for forward passes, and offsides, double movements perhaps at Leeds??
If you have a point that you can intelligently back up with discussion then make it, otherwise bye bye...back to your own forum you go !

Since when did those idiots at sky become judge & jury on what right and wrong?
Sky and the Beeb come out with crap on every broadcast! Just look round SL fans forums, people of all teams are up in arms weekly. Every game has contentious calls! And guess what? Nearly all fans think the refs get it wrong. Funny enough more do when their team gets beat.

If you know and understand the laws of the game it's not that difficult to see where they have been incorrectly enforced, regardless of which team you support and regardless of the result. Indeed refereeing is not simply about knowing the Laws of the Game, it's also about managing the players and using common sense. I can nominate numerous occasions on which we've benefitted from incorrect calls, but unfortunately can name many more where they've gone against us, more often than not in the last couple of years with the afforementioned Mr Child in charge. Coincidence?

I will give you one guess who has penalised leeds the most?
Looking at child's usual performance he had a pretty good game on Friday.

He did for Leeds. He got some key calls wrong in your favour though - probably because he seems to interpret certain laws differently to what 99% of the RL world do. To be honest I was pretty narked after the game and expected to watch it again on Saturday morning with a clear head and see that I'd been wrong. As it happened I wasn't and picked up a few more errors to boot.

It was strange to not see him ping Leeds time after time after time after time whilst letting the other team do exactly what Leeds were getting pinged for.
Child has hammered Leeds from his first match. i make no apologies if we got the rub of the green whilst he had the whistle.

I know exactly what you mean. He seems to have gone from one extreme to the other though now. Where he used to penalise everything, and I mean everything; now he seems afraid to penalise anything obvious yet you'll then get a penalty that leaves the entire stadium (along with pinky and perky when on TV) entirely confused about why it's actually been awarded.
For what it's worth it was a credit to both teams that they went out there and played a fast, clean game on Friday because there was absolutely no controlling of the ruck whatsoever. This was evident on a few occasions where players, attempting to regain their feet, were pushed back down yet it was overlooked - clear penalties if you ask me. Child will be a dream referee for Drabford this season when they get him!

Remember the magic weekend game, where he awarded 35 penalties in a Cas vs Wakey game? Totally ruined it as a spectacle and earned himself a few weeks running the line if I recall correctly.

Aye, and he spent as much time on the pitch flapping his flag about about trying to get the attention of the referee so that he could unnecessarily interfere more than any other linesman I've ever seen.
He needs a long stint in the Championship if you ask me

| I thought he had a fairly decent game. The first Hall try was not double movement as someone has to be tackling him for it to be so.
The "knock on" was in my opinion harsh - I would have hated it being called against Leeds - but there was no proof that the ball actually went forwards from the hands of Hardaker.
I thought Hood was lucky not to go to the video, but on the angle it showed on either the SLS or Boots'n'all it was on the line.

Lets be honest, most ball that touched a hand and hits the ground is usually 99.9% of the time call as a knock on.
It does bug me does that, a knock on used to be when the ball came off a player and WENT FORWARD.....not sideways or backwards but forward.
So for consistancy that should have been a knock on as it went sideways, depends imo on the mood of the ref on the day
