Now we have Arundal confirmed as leaving, if we do sign Ellis from Hull-sounds like he would be a very good addition, read the comments from Hull fans-of course you have the fans that complain about everything but some fans refer to his kicking game as fantastic and that it matched Danny Brough when they played Shudds exactly what we need, a organising territorial scrum half, let Chase do the magic and let Ellis pin the other team back when we need that digging deep effort.

| Sounds good. We need to get the kicking game back ASAP. When Millward says "Cas have been compensated" for the Arundel deal could Ellis be it ?

| I would be sorry to see Ellis go. He has the best kicking game at our club (better than Seymour or Horne) but has never really achieved the fitness levels of an SL player. For whatever reason it seems Gentle doesn't fancy him whereas Millward does.

| Honestly been a bit disappointed with Ellis, apart from one game against Bradford his kicking has been poor. He looks unfit and defence is poor. The worst thing about his game has been his passing which is surprising for a halfback. He is pretty young and still inexperienced in SL, so he may improve.

| I don't think we have had a decent kicking game since Danny Brough left. Can't remember the last time I saw a 40-20 kick from our side. Not sure Ellis is any worse than the rest of our squad but we need to be buying quality in the halves.

Which won't be much if you are where your location suggests you are

He's not all that bad. Defensively he has very slow footwork and gets stood up easily one on one, and it's true he still needs to work on his fitness, but his kicking game is definitely the best at Hull at the moment. It is true he's thrown out some wayward passes, but I've seen him play plenty of games where his passing was good. Whenever he plays in the 20's he looks the best player in the side too.
If you plan on starting him, you'll have to cover for him defensively until/if his fitness and speed comes up to scratch - but he has bags of potential and if he manages to tap into it - he'll be a great signing.

Fitness should be no excuse he had the fill off season to get up to standard and let himself down.
People go on about his kicking game, but apart from the Bradford game I have yet to see, it, in most games I've seen his kicking has been straight to the man.
Really he should be the best player in the 20's with him been 2/3 years older than the other players.
One thing I will agree on is he maybe should have been given a couple more games at halfback, gentle (who also sees him in training), just doesn't seem to rate him.
