| I've just come back from a meeting where we have discussed the situation about a lad at our club, (not our year) how he had an injury to his leg, the cut as you can see in the picture below (which has been down scaled as I don't what the full size one on) was a very nasty cut, the lad had also three days in hospital due to an infection.
The incident was caused by blade football/rugby boots and we have decided to not use these type of boots at our age.
Now I don't want to scare monger, but I do want you to as parents be aware of your children's boots, kids tend not to bother taking any care into maintenance never mind clean them, one of the worst is walking on tarmac/concrete which can lead to sharp edges on studs and blades,
one thing that tends to get over looked is the inspection at the start of the game, which we intend to make sure that it is checked for the safety of our as well as you kids on the pitch, so if you come across a situation where a player has poor quality boots that could cause injury please remember the photo of this lads leg.
I would like to add this is to warn readers on this forum who have children playing as do, and its not in anyway just post a gross picture,
If the forum mods have any problem with photo please remove it, but I thought as a parent of a lad that plays I would of like to be informed.

| Yorkshire Juniors take tough stance Added 2nd Dec 2008
Yorkshire Juniors manament are becoming increasingly concerned with the unprecendented rise in the number of cases that are coming to their disciplinary meetings this season.
And the league chiefs have warned that they will continue to dish out the heavy fines - or worse - in an attempt to stamp out the worringly high volume of cases that appear before them.
A spokesman for the giant Junior league warned that the management will not tolerate the rise in rule breaking and hinted that, if the current rise continued, it would only be a matter of time until we would be forced to impose much tougher sanctions.
The spokesman went on to say that they were having to organise extra disciplinary hearings as the number of cases was around five times the amount that they were used to dealing with, adding that the disciplinary meetings were begining to disrupt the running of the league and stated,
"It's time now for the unruly element - which is in the minority - to start acting responsibly and act in a proper manner in order for the league management to concentrate fully on their primary duty which is, to supply fixtures for children of ages 6 to 15 year old. We fully support and impliment the RFL RESPECT programme and would expect our member clubs to do so."
The spokesman continued, "The majority of the clubs are well behaved and act responsibly, we as a league management just hope that clubs are not sucked in to this worrying trend of ill discipline.

Just to add to this i am under 8s coach at townville and also ref some of the older ages the things you see from some (and only some) parents is staggering and really should be stamped out now , It is the responsibility of the Home liason officer to ban these thugs from the touchline we need to start getting tougher on them ..
