They are throwing residential areas up in the area all the time so Cas have to act fast before opposing momentum manifests.
Incidently Fully are there one way systems currently being implemented in the area? I dropped my gf off at the College and it took me about 50 minutes to get out of the area.'"
You really do not know anything about this do you?

| Quote: Fully "Dispersal orders to get rid of cars doing 'cruises' and such like. Most of those parking in the Xscape facility on game day will actually be using the bars and such like in there.
As for opposition, it's too late for that. Outline (the major one) planning permission has already been given, although it really is too far away to have any impact on residential areas - the noise from Xscape is more likely to be of detriment.
And no, there is no one way system being implemented. The roads were abysmal around there - they are just relaying it all.'"
It's the businesses that didn't want the Cars there and it takes a trip to hell and back to secure an order. I'm sure signs will go up in the cars parks ala Crown Point saying that this car park is for Xscape only etc.
But that's all incidental if Cas are struggling as much as we are and the relevant authorities strongly backed a joint venture I do strongly believe Newmarket is a very neutral (but equally cr*p location) area unlike Glasshoughton. Based in WF4 I live 12 miles from Newmarket, not many Cas based fans will need to travel that far.
I'd be happy to play at Glasshoughton if it meant it gave us a few years to sort out Newmarket but I wouldn't enjoy it so much if it was long term. SL survival at all costs though save for a merger!

I could accept that. But I'd rather be in NL1 than groundshare permanently.

I think Xscape would put up with a few people parking there in the hope they would visit before or/and after a match . Don't forget the plans show 1,125 car parking spaces at the stadium (Newmarket 800)not including the Xscape overflow which is hardly used now.
Please feel free to come and ground share with us - it will be easier for you to park!!

Which firms dont want the cars there? most will benifit from people being there, the shops, bars and places to eat will all be in favour.

Given that most people are mercenary b**tards, I'd expect to see signs going up saying: "Matchday Parking - Only £5".

Spot on. When me and my lad go to the rugby, the missus and daughter stay at home. If we get the stadium at Glasshoughton then my missus and daughter have both stated they will go to Xscape and Freeport to watch a film, go shopping or whatever. I know where i'll be parking.

| It seems some Wakefield fans are now thinking along the right lines and are warming to moving to Glasshoughton. Think having digested all the information and all of the potential benefits from both sites, GH offers much more to both clubs.

| Fully, I agree about some fans getting on board with the ground-share idea (I am convinced this is the only way forward). In my case, and that of many others I suspect, it is not because we have "finally faced up to the inevitable", but more because we are just now learning facts about the Wakefield side of things which we were until now lead to believe were all sorted out (funding, for example, which is categorically NOT finalised). The statement by Box simply puts the edge on it - Newmarket cannot compete with Glasshoughton in a feasibility study, which in my opinion is not even required, and is simply to put a veneer of "fairness" on the process (not that I think it is remotely unfair).

I wholeheartedly agree. Waste of money if you ask me. Go down every aspect for a new stadium and GH ticks every box. Location, jobs, potential sponsorship, fanbase opportunities. Everything.
