| Quote: Fully "Will hold my hands up to this.
However, at least the developers have accounted for this by including a nature park in the plans which would mitigate the loss of land and it still looks very green. It's also next to existing development too.
In contrast, Newmarket wasn't near to any development, was out in the sticks and was going to be surrounding swathes of warehousing.
But without turning this back into a Newmarket v Cas argument, it looks great plans but firmly believe they need to revise their plans to have a road from Spittal Hardwick lane. This will allow for traffic coming from Ponte/Knottingley way without having to direct them through Xscape roundabout.'"
I've been told by someone (who is a concerned Stainburn Ave resident who went to Thurs meeting at The Premier Inn) that there is a road to be built from Spittal Hardwick Lane to the ground which would be open for game days only allowing coaches and cars to the ground.
Not sure if this would stop the residents of S.H lane objecting though.
As someone who worked on Carr Wood road for years that to me would be the best place for locals to park...no double yellows down there and would be quiet on a Sundays

Let's just hope that this time the plans come to fruition.

| Whatever promises are made to the local residents I can gaurantee they will still be objecting to this. I work with one and she is 100% looking to object and is also looking to take legal action and get compensation from this.

I hope she's got deep pockets to take on the financial might of the organisations involved.

| Lets hope it comes off, for both clubs, we have both gone through plenty of adversity in the last decade, it good to hear both clubs might might be getting a new start in new stadia, we will just have to keep our fingers & toe's crossed & hope we get them.

She ain't got a prayer.
You pretty much can't even see where the Stadium will be due to a hill and looking for compensation screams of "oh this sounds like an easy way to make some money!". In fact, the Nature Park will probably INCREASE the value of her property, people who like to NIMBY are ridiculous - the folk at Newmarket, the ones moaning about HS2 - shut up, you're not losing out on anything.
Wouldn't be shocked at all if it's pretty much a done deal with the council and it was them who said build the stadium and we will pass the development for you.

Yes, There will be an access road to the back of the stadium from spittal hardwick, but it will be restricted access only (emergency vehicles etc.)
NO cars will be allowed to enter or exit from Spittal Hardwick, measures will also be put in place to make sure match day traffic does not park on spitball hardwick / bellway estate / stainburn ave.

| Was told by one of the lateral guys that they are considering putting on shuttle buses from cas town centre. I am really impressed by the plans and I think too much time and money gone into this for it not to come off. Wouldn't be surprised if wmdc hasn't aleady given developers the nid. Cheap way for council to solve traffic problems round that r'about
