Really? i look forward to derbies, wish we would have played them boxing day (no offence bradford fans), the fact that we got a smaller gate on a suposadly more attractive fixture (with a very healthy bulls contingent) seems to show others think the same way.

| Dont want to get into a slagging match but if we make money out of it what is the problem. Will you make money out of calling your ground the jungle again this year ?.
As for Tim Wasn't Big Fellas one of your shirt sponsors the other year and did you think the same then

I dont see what the problem is either (though i did enjoy winding my fev supporting mate up by calling it the sweatfellas stadium), i wont care what are new ground is called when its built.

never want to play them again and especially on boxing day (rather have rugby than fighting in the stands and then the town after) and as for this years crowd had we not had the big cock up with the kick off times i reckon you could have put another 1000 on the gate but thats just my opinion.

Its not usually the fans that end up fighting though, its idiots that come from both sides just for a fight, by not playing fev i feel were are letting these idiots win to the detriment of true fans.

| I was only having a laugh guys, there's some right killjoys on this forum
There is no problem with it and it is a good move by fev to draw in a few more coins.
I also missed playing Fev on Boxing day, is one of the great Rugby League derbys, even though the odd idiot spoils it.

| In fairness every club has the odd set of idiots, theres the Salford fans of last year starting trouble and throwing flares etc onto the field, we had the Loiners throwing stuff on the pitch the other season, had trouble with Kr supporters couple of times, and yes the scuffles in the past with Rovers fans.
However, we did also bombard the field with allsorts after the Catalans game and even laid seige on the match officials changing room, also fighting amongst our own fans at Headingley so we are far from angels ourselves.
So kinda unfair to point the finger directly at a certain club, we all do it at some point.

However, there hasn't been any trouble that I'm aware either before, during or after either of the last two Boxing Day matches.

Spot on post. I've seen us play Cas home and away, probably 40 games in total. For 39 of those games Cas fans have behaved reasonably well. Only in one game in the 2004 season when Cas fans marched towards the Wakey fans at the jungle, you all remember the game, have I felt threatened.
I could say this is typical of Cas fans but clearly it isn't. Fev fans I have never had any bother with over a similar number of games. Are they angels, err no, it's jut never happened - yet.
It probably will eventually but that won't make them public enemy No 1 overnight. Get two passionate or drunk sets of people in a charged environment and there is always the potential for trouble.
The only two clubs who continually seem to cause trouble are the Hull clubs, but even then it's quite rare, maybe 4 minorish incidents in 20 years,
Reality is the potential for trouble exists in all fan groups and at ever match and always will. To isolate any set of fans even those from Hull is a bit of a knee jerk reaction IMHO. Let he who is without sin and all that.

The half dozen gateshead fans were always unlikely to be any trouble.

Over the years i have seen trouble from- both hulls, fev, salford, leeds, wakey, hudds, wire, haven, widnes and bradford fans and i'm pretty certain (at the tender age of 23) i havent seen half of what some fans have seen.
I will never like fev, but i respect them and i will never blame the actions of a few idiots on them.
