I must be going deaf or something because I was at the Wheldon Rd end and I didn't hear the C word used once. I think I'd remember as I think its the worst swear word.

How many constitutes Large medium and small? Just so we can categorise properly.

He took it on the chin because he had to, just like every single ref has to. You don't see a ref responding to abuse.

Mathers doesn't seem to have cottoned on to the fact that fans from his previous clubs don't like him because he's just not good at playing rugby.

He'll be off your hands next year anyway.

I've never particularly liked Mathers as a player, no matter who he played for. Defensively we've had better, although he is more impressive when he joins the attack. We've had other players at Trinity - many - who have not been 'superstars' in their positions, but all of these players get a warm welcome when they play at Belle Vue IF they've done their best for the club during their time with us. Examples are Wilkes and Golden when they went to London, Elima with Catalans and Bradford, Atkins with Wire etc. etc. If they've taken the p when they were with us, they get some stick (Tpot Griffin?).

What I can't understand with your abuse of Mathers is that he is a great club guy, despite his shortcomings as a player. He gives his best on the pitch, and goes above and beyond off it. I honestly think he was gutted to leave Cas, and think that he dealt with his departure with dignity. He didn't deserve that abuse - unlike your hero Chase who, it seems to me, has tried to deliberately engineer his own departure and who's lack of any shred of the professionalism that Mathers showed whilst with you I find disgusting!

I too was in the WRE and clearly heard the c word directed at Mathers.
