Time will tell if you are a success. But you have to understand how supporters of other clubs feel, its like at your workplace where the newcomer to the business joins and is seemingly given extra help by the bosses even when their c.v claims they can do the job easily, wouldn't it rankle a bit with anyone?

I can understand the frustration, what I fail to see is how posting unsubstantiated tosh on an internet forum will help any team get a franchise, also, given that Crusaders have just moved into 8th place it appears to be getting worse.

I said that I knew tickets were given away due to the fact the RFL have helped with suggestions on how to increase your attendance sharing with the club things that have worked in the past, don't try to twist what I have said. At no point did I say that every ticket was a freebie.

Neither did I, if you read my post again you'll see I put majority which, given your economics lesson earlier surely it must be the majority or you wouldn't be stating that the club should be charging full price for all, given that the game is new to the area and interest needs to be developed why make an issue out of free tickets otherwise?

| I'm not making an issue you said majority not me I'm saying giving incentives is good as long as it leads to people getting hooked on the club and then being willing to put their hands in their pocket and parting with their hard earned cash, this is something only time will tell

| Quote: tropical1 "I'm not saying it should be done differently you are missing the point. Whilst other clubs put on offers free/reduced or incentives these are generally used when they are playing a team who will bring minimal away support for example Leeds wouldn't use any incentives when they are playing Bradford as they know that there is enough local interest, however when they are playing crusaders quins or dragons they may well uses some incentive to bolster the crowd.
But if a club uses incentives for the majority of games at some point the figures won't add up you need people paying to pay the wages and keep the club solvent. So you could probably say that a truer figure of support would be season ticket holders and I am sure that if Crusaders can maintain a level of success the season ticket holder numbers would also increase.
The point you seem to miss is that we have seen various project teams from the RFL - Paris ST Germain - Gateshead - Sheffield Eagles and within a few years the RFL drop them as the interest isn't there, Gatehead were merged with Hull and Sheffield were merged with Huddersfield and Paris disappeared. So for Crusaders to remain and not suffer the fate of the other clubs they need to keep the interest going and attract new support and sponsorship.'"
Funny that, could have swore you put the majority of games here

So the answer is then that despite your economics lesson earlier and you stating that I said all tickets when clearly I didn't, your happier posting a statement indicating that the majority of games carried a number of promotions but you clearly you don't know the number despite stating that economically it can't continue.
See what I've done here? I've started trying to put some rationale behind the argument, something you clearly can't.

| Welsh crusader leek eating sheep loving RLFC shouldnt be in the SL end of. you are another RFL failed expansion project just like Londonfullhambrocoquins, the sad thing is the RFL are too stupid to admit it and will WASTE probably millions keeping teams like yours afloat. would have rather had Widnes a team with a decent following. how long before the next move......get the RFL to stop pumping money into your club and see how long you last...

What a well reasoned response (quiet now the adults are talking)

| To be honest guys getting on at Crusaders about their attendance, seems a bit narrow minded. They are a start up club as far as SL is concerned and they dont seem to be doing too bad, good luck to them, I for one, hope its a sucess.
As far as licenses are concerned, our future is in our own hands, and it has been for some time, we need to start laying bricks and concrete at Glasshoughton, then our status as a super league club will be assured.
Getting on at Crusaders and deriding their efforts just makes us look petty and childish, after all the rules were fairly clear when we got the SL licence and not much has realy changed.

I agree we shouldn't be slagging other clubs off and should be looking at making sure our own house is in order, but I do feel that our plans have been hit by the state of the economy and that the RFL should take account of this, also Crusaders did move the goalpost somewhat when they moved to Wrexham, which is not so much of a development area with its close proximity to Widnes, if Crusaders were still based in South Wales it would be different story.
I have to say I don't like the noises coming from the RFL courtesy of their mouthpiece John Ledger, who initially said the best 14 applications would get a licence, then appeared to change this to the best 13 and a Championship club, then said it may not even be as many as 13 current Superleague clubs who keep their place.
I wonder how long Mr Ledger will last at the RFL, knowing how they treat their Press Officers, with Harry Gration and Dave Callaghan leaving RedHall out of total frustration with the men who run the game. Our sport is being run by a bunch of amateurs not befitting greatest game, it doesn't feel good, but I have to say that the RFL should learn from Rugby Yawnion, who have turned their game into a real spectator sport, it is still nowhere near as good as our game, but they have got people flocking through the turnstyles and believe it or not they still have promotion of the team finishing top of their second tier and relegation of the team who finish bottom of their premiership.
