The Community Trust asked WMDC for a loan of £150,000 to cover "Design Fees" The Coucil turned them down. In December 2009 theCouncil's Chief executive took the decision that WMDC would act asguarantee for a loan of £150,000 from the Co Op Bank to the Trust. This was ratified by the Council in January 2011. After consulting with Councillor D Jeffrey on 10th May 2011 The Director of Finance and Property took the Officer Delegated Decision on 12th May 2011 to settle the Council's liability with regard to the Loan Guarantee provided to the Co Op Bank.
Unless the Council have kept/are keeping back a bit of land at Springfield Grange to take account of the above then I do believe the ratepayers have paid the £150,000 "Design Fees"'"
You do lie because your twisting what you claim as big issues to give a false impression.
If you say WMDC payed £150,000 to cover design fees I'll take your word for it - or better still TRB or IA could comment. I did state WMDC had made a very small investment, you'd have to be a fool to believe no money has changed hands/
If you don't think £150,000 is a proper use of rate payers money to bring a 90 million pound development with up to 2,000 jobs then I really don't know what is. WMDC Councillors and staff are elected/appointed to do the best for the district. They do not have to justify smaller sums like this - I cannot see any failure in this concern. If you can please explain why all that N/M offers is not worth some modest contributions from WMDC.
You seem intent in making this a Cas v Wakey issue when it's just a WMDC issue. I suspect you wouldn't if the boot were on the other foot

| Quote: frank5613 "the former CEO has gone but what has that got to do with the point, it said a COMMUNITY stadium, the word is there and it has a definition, it means anybody who lives in that community is entitled to use the facility not if other supporters think its OK, if you are paying for it then fare enough, if its being built for everybody it dose not mater what the OLD CEO says, but if you want the nice shinny tin all painted red white & blue then the club should pay for it building, but as waky don't like paying it will belong to every rate payer in the waky area, but if you would not like it if Cas or Fev wanted to play there just remove the word community and replace it with the Wakefield wildcats stadium and fut the bill'"
I take your point, but its not quite that simple.
Yes it will be a community stadium, but it will still only be able to cope with X number of tenants.
There has to be some kind of method of establishing anchor tenants/secondary tenants etc............which is why i would imagine Cas and Fev have already been asked if they would wish to commit to a lease.
If the stadium is operating at its max number of tenants and then Cas or Fev decide they would like to use, they may have to wait for it to be viable.

| I don't think there will be the weight placed on facilities that there has been with other rounds of franchises in 2015. However, I do think that improvement will still be rewarded & lack of progress met with skepticism.
The excuse of the global recession may have been plausible if both CT & WTW hadn't progressed. However if (& it's still a big if) WTW are in NM by 2015 I think CT's position within SL could be very precarious, to say the least.
I for one love the banter & the animosity between the tribal camps. I don't want to lose the derby, but think that our days are seriously numbered. Lack of progress, expansion in France, reduction in SL numbers- the dangers are all around IMO.

I'd say small "if" now, cautious optimism.

| Speaking of cautious optimism, both Wakefield and Cas are still vastly superior to Championship clubs, in terms of fan base and community value. So I can't see the RFL sh*tting on either club (but again, that's VERY cautious optimism)
They'd sh*t on their own door step and hope it'd turn to compost

Until I see diggers on site building a STADIUM I'll still keep telling myself nothing will happen.
I've longed for this, as it's clear many CT fans long for J32, but I've been burned so many times over the past 20 years.
Another bad year in the league would be worse for you than another year with no news about WR.

| the global climate has hit clubs like Cas & Waky, but in the eyes of the RL there is only one way to go and thats expansion, there not bothered about the small club and it has been shown with the 2 teams going in to admin, what did the RL, or SL do when Waky went that way, the game was ready to demote waky, but when the Bulls went in we see a different side of the coin, the admin bent over back-words for them, no players allowed to be sold and then the last straw, they pay there wages for the rest of the season , and say how we cant do without the Bulls, but why its only like other clubs and it stinks that some are better thought of than others, its time all clubs in SL were treat the same, the RL must have known what was happening with the Bulls or was all the thing the Bulls and the RL did running up to them going bust just coincidence

| There may not even be licensing in 2015.
It's all hypothetical and even then Cas are still superior to a number of other teams in other areas.

| The number of issues you can "lord it over" us with have all but evaporated, in fact I'd say we're superior to a few on a number of points- just like you. If someone's going there will be "for" & "against" both in any call the RFL make. A lot may come down to good old league position. Good job you've got someone like Basil & plenty of cash to throw at him/a successor if needed, eh Fully!
A number of years ago when J32 looked dead set we suffered in a number of ways because of a shift in the RL public's opinion. I think you may experience something similar with every step NM makes. Unless you get on board ASAP. The longer it's left the more weight the "anchor tenant" tag will have.
In all honesty, it's as neutral a location as we're going to find, it has an "in progress" enabling development, chances are you'll be using the training facilities- why not get all in? It all makes sense.
As others have said the time for slinging has gone. I hope we can all think seriously about this.

| Before your rant, can you kindly tell me where I either a) said Wakefield or b) implied Wakefield.
FYI, I wasn't even referring to Wakefield........
PS. Because journalists to an extent don't go out their way to find facts they take the standard press release and believe it to make something controversial.
Then other people, in turn, then believe said comments as fact and try to make more of a situation without no basis of reality. And you really need to get over with this idea of us getting onboard with Newmarket; it ain't going to happen and SF even openly admitted at the Civic Centre that he had not even contemplated the idea.
Time for you to forget about that idea once and for all.
