My previous post on this topic questioned Ian Millward's sudden change of attitude towards Cas but acknowledged the great job he appears to have done at Leigh this season. The more I've thought about things since the more I'm actually inclined to be the lone voice of support for his appointment.

When it comes to managerial jobs at this level I believe it's not only about who's the best coach but who's the best fit.

TMs successor will need to be someone who can work largely with the squad he inherits, enhance it within tight financial constraints and/or by blooding existing, and admittedly abundant, young talent. A willingness/ability to "rough it", at least for the foreseeable future, would be additionally desirable.

I'm not sure the Nobles/Morgans/Gentles among most peoples preferred bidder list tick as many of the boxes as Millward especially if you include a thankfully irrelevant propensity to spout absolute garbage in the media.

Cue calls for me to start taking the medication again?

I keep seeing Adrian Lam's name popping up but what is he up to, has he had any coaching experience?

But he's also said he will only leave the Dragons for the WIGAN job in England.

Is it tomorrow the announcement of ur new coach thought cas wanted him announced by the end of august if it's gentle surely they could announce him now, were in same boat at KR it's the not knowing who it's going to be.

Think he was at your game today because he got into the country earlier than expected, I think he will be going to meet RW and the squad sometime this week and the announcement will be the end of this week/start of next week because Wright said yesterday "in the next 2 weeks".



No salary issues with Gentle, he was demanding HALF of what Noble was. I was told 2 years with an option for a 3rd is his contract.

Gentle was at Cas today dotting the I's and crossing the T's...meeting with the squad later in the week and the announcement will probably go in next weeks express.
