| Strange reason not to watch Cas DJ, our stadium may not have the best facilities in the world, but there are times when the atmosphere is better than at any sports venue in the world and I've been to a number of the best and surely we don't go to have a comfy seat by the fireside?
Whilst I understand our need for a new stadium to ensure a superleague license, I have to say personally I don't need such facilities to enjoy a game, hopefully the new stadium will retain some of the atmosphere of the old one.

| I agree with danny Boy that it's a strange reason to stop supporting a team due to the facilities. If DJ stopped going several years ago why did it take him so long, our ground was no worse than the majority of grounds in the league. He must have noticed that the new stadiums that were built at first all had soccer clubs attatched to them, without these the new grounds would not have materialised. As for the Cas ground, yes it is old but terracing is terracing whether the ground is new or old and at least ours is not crumbling unlike some others, if you prefer to sit there is always the main stand. Personally i prefer to stand and i do not like to be told where i can go in the new stadiums when i have paid more than the home supporters in some cases. As for the facilities a burger or pie tastes just the same at all grounds and as long as the catering site is clean then i have no grumbles. I do agree that the toilet facilities leave a lot to be desired but i only go to answer the call of nature, not to take in the scenery or have a discussion. I have been going down the lane since 1963 and have witnessed quite a few changes but without the support that the big clubs get it was never going to be state of the art. If everyone had the same views as DJ then there would have been a lot of empty stadiums with no income for repairs.

Well said - I worry that our sport is slowly sucumbing to a take-over by the prawn sandwich brigade so despised by Roy Keane (thuggish tw@ scummer). I remember when the only people who sat down to watch a game in comfort were the elderly, the infirm or the downright pretentious!

Several reasons really, i'm an avid Manchester United supporter and go to alot of games - now i'm not comparing the grounds at all but i much prefer that sort of arrangement. Similar to going to Wigans stadium, nice clean stadium, plenty of parking and not stupidly packed bars that you can't get a drink from.
Maybe it's the reason that we're in this state where we might get kicked out of the league for stadium facilities as too many are stuck in the past and haven't upgraded like other sports have done.

| How am i a glory supporter? I've supported Utd well before their premiership glory days.
At the end of the day, new ground = more funds, more fans and a better team for us..... or should we stick with our shoddy stadium thats past its sell by date and the same fans who'd rather watch a team struggle at the bottom of the league year after year.

To be honest I think we need all the fans we can get Towns, I do feel sorry for people like DJ - he's the one who has missed out, but I would welcome any stay aways back with open arms.
I would welcome those who support the football team from the other side of the hill (even as a whites supporter) the more the merrier.

Correct but then again, I don't go to watch the rugby because of a stadium - I go to watch them because of the team on the field. Would you go see them if there was no stadium and it was just a patch of grass?
I agree with everyone else on here, Cas need all the fans and support they can get and one extra person may seem very little but every penny into the club helps. Besides, this is going to be - or likely to be - the final season at The Jungle. Surely that, in itself, is worth justifying going to watch Cas this season even if you do hate the ground. Will give you a chance to say 'goodbye' in your own way.
