| Its down to the new governmets cuts, the council can now no longer keep their promise. I will never understand why any working class man would vote for them pillocks!
The two clubs need to get this sorted and quick, Cas are at a more advanced stage than Wakefield there is no argument there (If you are sane). Time is of the essence, which leaves only one conclusion!

You know, I'd never thought of this until you mentioned it but if Wakey were playing at Glasshoughton and Cas weren't playing elsewhere I'd probably go see a few of their games too as it's only down the road.

| If a shared ground is at Glasshoughton, whenever Cas are away i too would go watch Cas away.

Exactly. Wakefield could probably benefit more from having a Cas fanbase on their doorstep. Not only could it improve marketing in our area but they would get us going through the gates for their attendances. Not only that, the additional revenue could benefit both sides probably.

Are you suprised by that, its what they do best
I'm sane ish not wanting to turn over the same story but i keep being told you don't have the funds and without Wakey agreeing to join you, you won't be able to build (at this present time) and times running out for us both.
I just don't know anymore i really don't, its all very sad.

I share this thought. I don't know whats going to happen, or how it's going to happen or when or where. There's no point in having dumb arguments with each other, Cas & Wakey fans are pretty much in the same boat.

We're unified together now. One club is going to get a decision against them - one is going to be buoyed. I actually feel sick in the stomach. Years of bickering, years of arguing and not to mention planning going to waste.

I'm with you guys on this one, it's a real shame that it's come to this.

| Are you all that much against a merger im not? My kids are not ? But im a realist dont think that will happen even though its proven to work ( West Tigers ) .
Both BoDs can hold there head in shame they have let us down too many failed promises, like everyone else i feel for both sets of fans another sad day for the greatest RL development area in the UK

| Wow, this has prompted me to do what i have said i would never do, post on a message board, so here goes.......................
Its about time we, Cas and Wakey supporters stopped the 'mines bigger and better than yours' crap and started working together on this one, because the ground sharing nonsense is just the precurser that the clowns at Red Hall want to force the merger issue again.
The ground share is a no no if we both want to retain our individual identities, and imo the team that moves out of its own heartland will be the one that withers and dies.
We should ride this storm and stick with our own plans , us at GH , Wakey at Newmarket and if both fail or the Superleague decide we are not wanted, then tough, let Leeds pretend they have a rivalry with Bradford when their supporters see Cas and Wakey as their real derby opponants and we will recommence hostilities in the championship along with a tasty extra derby with Featherstone.
Superleague will miss us both more than we will miss them, and we may just have a laugh on the way, saving both clubs identities and sticking 2 fingers up to the clowns at Red Hall.

Firstly, welcome to the board mate. There is a huge difference in quality between the championship and SL, and as I watch Cas for entertainment I would rather watch my team, playing at GH and sharing a ground with Wakie. The costs to both clubs would be halved for a start. Thus allowing us to have a better team. We would play in a state of the art stadium, Wakie might even look at it as a short term thing and just pay us rent until they can sort themselves out! I would rather help Wakie out than see them struggle.
Times are changing, and unfortunately you have to move with the times. Sometimes even if you don't like it.

Its time to leave sentiment behind us and consider whats best for the kids! the future of the district.
Do we condem them to a future of nl1 poor standard of RL or do we seize this obstlcle and turn it into a chance to forge a super club? one that in the years to come the supporters of tommorow will be proud of or do we dig our outdated sentimental heels in just because thats what we always have done !!
