Ainscough made a great contribution to the game, plenty of energy, pace and committment. I wish we could have him for a bit longer than a month!!

Great debut. Seemed liked he'd been at Cas ages with the way he played. Hope he stays longer than the planned month.

That line stands for the mediocrity of our international game and our terrible excuses for British RL for the past however many years.

I've just been watching up n under on a certain video site which was uploaded by a wigan fan (to whom I am very grateful) featuring the signing of Martin Offiah. Not a single mention of his defence when talking about signing him, simply his great ability.

We lambast young british winger and centres in favour of imports to our peril. Thanks to Cas this season for giving the kid a superleague start this year otherwise people would have said 'well anyone can score in the championship..etc etc.

the one thing that did stand out in his game was the way he alway brought the ball back inside instead of going the direct route, i think he could have had another 2 tries if he'd backed himself

Great performance for you guys, impressed me all night long.

Very impressed with the lad - an almost dream debut and didn't deserve to be on the losing side.

Shows the quality of Cas overall when a player who's surplus to requirements at another SL club is the standout player for us.

He's got that bit of spark and when he gets the ball its almost as if you expect him to do something brilliant, very exciting player to watch in the mould of a certain Jason Robinson. Got yourselves a good un there

something not right about them stats, it will be now 24 in 16 appearances does this not ring alarm bells ringing that he is at least worth another punt at wigan

I watched him play last year against Leeds and ball in hand he was very impressive. He has defensive issues - some of which he'll probably always have due to his lack of height - but for goodness' sake I still don't understand what Wigan's thinking is. All he needs is a bit of specialist coaching in defence and to play inside a centre that knows what he's doing in defence.

Whats wrong with Wigans thinking? We've sent him out on loan to a good superleague club to gain some experience whilst he can't get a place in the side. The opportunity was probably there for Wigan to play him last week against Wire but he'd have been up against a 6ft 3 winger who's outstanding in the air in Matt King and that would have been unfair on the lad.

He can't get a place ahead of Roberts or Richards and surely thats understandable. They themselves have scored 13 trys between them in 4 games.

I'm sure Wigans long term plans include Ainscough and he'll be an outstanding player for us but in the meantime he'll keep getting experience and working on his game at Cas. I wouldn't be suprised if he's at Cas for the rest of the year tbh.

id prefer my wingers playing outside the centres. Is this where leeds have gone wrong at the start of this season?
