| Quote: El Tigre "The fluorescent comment was in jest of course about the hideous kits we endured earlier this decade. But the rest of my comment still stands.
No-one in my group of match-going mates own a Cas shirt of any kind and none of us can comprehend the though process of people who wear them to matches. What goes on? Do you think players look into the crowd and draw inspiration from seeing everyone dressed the same as them?'"
You cant even comprehend the thought process of hundreds of millions of fans (if not billions) who wear replica shirts to show support for there team? the majority of cas fans (in fact i cant think of one that hasnt) have owned a replica shirt at some point.
Are you and your mates quite a miserable bunch- 'ee look at them wearing shirts, chanting, shouting when the team scores, where do they think they are!'

| Does the wearing of a replica show a higher level of support than someone who doesn't wear em?
Why do grown men with beer guts think wearing cheap materials designed for athletes is a good idea?
Never mind the touch and feel of the product; just buy it, wear it and walk around paying for the privilege of being an advertising board for our thousands of sponsors.
I go to the game and don't need a cheaply made (but expensive) piece of clothing to identify me to the club. Given the choice I'd far rather spend 40+ quid on a polo shirt that I won't feel compelled to replace 12 months on.
I suppose we are pretty miserable though to be fair.

| I buy one every year as soon as they come out. I always wear mine to a match. Its not about the players seeing the shirt, its about being proud to be associated with your club.
I don't mind advertising the sponsors, they have put money into something I enjoy, so I am happy to return the favour.

| You are a marketing mans wet dream.
You telling me that they could make the most minute change to the shirt from one season to the next yet you'd still spend £40+ every 12 months to show your pride?
Why not get a flag/banner made?
If 50 or so people had flags/banners and took them into the Princess St every home match surely that shows a greater sense of pride in your club? That you have taken the time and effort to do something that will have a far more inspirational influence on the players?
Never know, it might improve the atmosphere as well.

Making a flag or banner wouldn't put money in the club's coffers. Some may say that buying a match ticket is enough, but if we want the club to compete at the highest level, buying a club shirt which gives revenue to the club in sponsership as well as the RRP is a good way of helping us on our way there.
At the end of the day, those who don't buy shirts have the right not to, those who do want to buy the shirts do. I'm somewhere in between - I buy them now and again if I like them.
The joy is that we've all got our own preferences, but those criticising those who don't have the same preferences as them are the ones who need their heads testing

| I think it's a shame nobody bothers with flags these days. I remember not so long ago there used to be loads of them in the crowd.

Would do in a round-about way. Improvement of atmosphere = attracting more paying fans through the gate.
I have some Puma gear and the quality of these products far out-weighs anything sold in the club shop and cost half the price. If the stuff the club sells was priced comparitively I wouldn't have a problem, but the mark up because of the club crest is outrageous and demonstrates the contempt with which we are thought of by those running the club.
The chopping & changing of kits and "leisurewear" every season is a p!ss take and serves only to alienate supporters who, over time, get more and more disillusioned with kit changes and 'fall out of love' with the club - this does happen.
RE - Flags
Take a look at the below and tell me Cas wouldn't benefit from something like this (minus the smoke, obviously)
ps - note the lack of replicas

| Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to see more flags at Cas - when the club sold them for a quid it was great to see so many around the ground...

Yes. By definition, football casuals don't wear colours.

I would love to see that sort of atmosphere, especially at away games. Constant singing and flags waving would look awesome. A huge flag like that might be a bit pricey though!

No.
Just that as an argument: wearing colours is crap because these people who famously don't wear colours (originally to avoid the police) don't wear colours" is crap.
